Regardless, pretty much all of us that disabled the HTC Home plugin have not had any freezing or boot issues...

Hmmm... sucks since the HTC HOME plug-in is kinda cool. (grown on me, graphically, although I prefer SBS PLUS for functionality).

As for searching for answers... people should indeed search first, but don't come down on them. The search function on this forum leaves much to be desired.

Htc Home - Freezing

If I'm to understand correctly...
it's not the HTC plugin that's causing issues, but the WEATHER TAB within the HTC HOME plug-in??? So it would follow that disabling the weather plugin would solve the issue?

Also, I missed it, what program allows you to boot to safemode?
I was using SBS PLUS for that, but I don't want to run that & HTC HOME, at the same time as it's wasteful of resources.

Weather Tab Freezing during startup

I had the problem where everytime I soft reset my phone it would freeze on startup. To fix it I had been disabling HTC before the reset and then turn it on. If my phone froze I relied on SafeMode from monocube.com.

Now though that I have disabled the download weather data automatically I have not had a single freezup on start up.

I have soft reset 4 times so far with no freeze.

WM6 Returns automatically Today Screen after coming out of standby no matter what.

Is there a setting that prevents my XV6700 from returning to the Today screen whenever I turn it back on? (I don't mean after it's been totally off, just after the display's been off(standby) ).It happends even if i just press the power-up button on and off, it goes to the today screen. I'm sure it did not happen with the wm5. Before the upgrade it used to stay on whatever program I was running, Unless it was longer then the time I had setup on the the "Today Screen Timeout" time.

It does not come with the update, But you can instal it your self with the sdhc.zip program. I installed it and got a 4gig SDHC micro Sd at bestbuy. Now i have it in with the mini SD adapter and everything works great, the only problem is you cant save the camara pics to it. It has something to do with the camara only being able to read below 2 gigs. Here i think this link should work for the sdhc.zip file, if now to google it.

I honestly wasn't trying to come down on him -- it was more of a subtle hint...

I try not to bash noobs the way some do. I did, after all, try to answer his question, instead of the canned "try a search" response...

That said, I agree the search function is not that great, but I did a search for "splash screen" and the first thread listed was all he needed.

The search function in vBulletin is much improved compared with phpBB. If you want searches to give you more specific results, be sure to click the Advanced Search option, then select "Show Results as: Posts."
