Re: WM6.1 build 20931 kitchen

Is there a better way to clear a corrupted ExtROM than flashing a stock ROM? I have an unlocking program in 20931. How do i unhide? Is there a good CAB for those?
If not, what RUU do I need to get a flash to complete with bootloader 1.04?
Both
APAC_VZW_20720_200_11000_Ship.exe
and
APA_VZW_20720_206_11000_WWE_Ship.exe
after putting the phone in bootloader, and giving an update screen, sit a while, then give me an Error 201:Get Device Data Error
I also have APA_Verizon_31430_314208_14300_WWE_Ship_2.exe. I think this one applies Bootloader 2.04 or 2.05,
which I want to avoid, because I don't want to have to revert the bootloader, and I want a larger ROM.

Re: WM6.1 build 20931 kitchen

SOLUTIONS:

1.RUU: Looks like what I needed for flashing 1.04 was the New Bootloader RUU in the kitchen, not NoID or just RUU.

2.Corrupt Extended ROM: Found a file from Verizonguy called Blank Extended ROM (ms_.nbf)

3.Put ms_.nbf (blank) into NewBootloader RUU in Kitchen
(I also put in the nk.nbf from an older Stock Verizon ROM, but I don't think it was necessary.)

4.Flashed for the old stock ROM, then Flashed my custom ROM with the PPC Kitchen.

Extended ROM now clean, visibly, and according to OS Settings/Memory/Extended ROM.

Re: WM6.1 build 20931 kitchen

well i got 20931 running on my apach, seems to be running smooth, but i did notice that the batt had died in a day, granted i used it a good bit playing around with it making sure everything was up to par. i might try 20755 if i get bored later.

Re: WM6.1 build 20931 kitchen

Having some issues with the new VZW Arcsoft MMS, Version 5..71.33R3. It works great for SMS and MMS, but i cannot get it to let me add any email accounts. I click the Setup Email from the account picker and it sends me to Outlook Email. If i try to Add New Account from either the Tools menu or Options page it flickers and does nothing. Am i missing a setting somewhere? Using this kitchen on an Apache 1.00 bootloader. Any other specs i can get them for you! Thanks a ton and great job!

EDIT-

Apparently, the iBliss Dialer breaks a lot of things. When i switched back to HTC Vogue dialer, the email settings came back and the device is a lot more responsive than before. So in case this happens to anyone else!

Re: WM6.1 build 20931 kitchen

exactly. there is NOTHING beneficial about builds past 20755 (at least as far as the apache goes). performance of 20755 is superior and there are less flaws. and it takes less space.

Re: WM6.1 build 20931 kitchen

I just did my first flash of my vx6700 from wm5 (BL 1.0) using build 20931. The one issue I've found is the behavior with Activesync-cradling. After a hard reset, I can cradle it and get one good Activesync detection and sync process. After a few minutes, it goes to sleep and I cannot power on again until I hard reset. Maybe I'll go back to 20755...

I installed 20931 and found that TCPMP and WMP both shut down after 4 minutes, thus making the 6700 useless as a music player. So, I went back to 20755 - now it still shuts down even though I specify that the 6700 should not turn off .- see my settings below:. ARRRGGGHHH ..

Under:
Settings
System
Power
Advanced
On Battery Power
Turn off Device if not used for - unchecked

Under:
Settings
System
Backlight
Turn off backlight if device is not used for - unchecked

The unit still shuts down and the backlight goes off.

When a call come in, the unit wakes up, music plays, then phone rings.

Am I missing something?
