Use the OLDEST VoiceCommand if you use MSVC. The newer ones work for some people, but I've always had issues with VC/BT and selecting button assignments.
Don't expect Smartskey to work.

If you haven't flashed custom ROMs before, make sure you put your device in BootLoader [POWER+RECORD+RESET] before you flash.
Thanks. Seems to be the same for my builds, too. First try at 20748 was painfully slow. Rebuilt with the OLD services.exe folder and very quick now. I suppose there could have been an update between builds that might account for it, too, not sure.

Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20748 Kitchen

I have not been able to fully sync my Exchange server accounts email with my VX6700. Although I can sync another account (IMAP) just fine with more than a months worth of messages, I cannot even sync 2 weeks worth with ActiveSync. Invariably, I will get the dreaded "there is not enough free memory on your device to synchronize information" (error code 8007000e) error. Running Task Manager, it looks like ActiveSync is using up A LOT of memory while syncing emails (I have watched it go up to 15 M, but it sits around 8-9 M). I am running AS 4.5.0 on my PC (XP).

I have tried the "service.exe" patch, I have tried Helmi's selection, I have tried the 20748 selections, I have deleted the server and set it up again... always with the same result. No matter what, only 100 emails make it over before AS gives up.

FWIW, I am storing my attachments on my storage card and I have pre-configured my accounts using OEMizer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

UPDATE 10/2/2008: After a couple more attempts (w/o OEMizer stuff, no extras...), I am reverting back to my old ROM. ActiveSync just doesn't seem to want to play nicely.

UPDATE 10/2/2008.2: *facepalm* It turns out, my problem was the result of a couple of largish emails (text only) in my Inbox. After deleting those, syncing now happily happens. I am leaving this post in place, just in case anyone else stumbles across this. I certainly did not find much on the Google (or the cuil for that matter ).

Last not least and very importantly: None of the above should be construed as ANY criticism of the kitchen staff for whom I have the deepest appreciation and gratitude! Thanks for doing what you are doing!!

Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20748 Kitchen

the threaded messaging is a bit strange with this build. it won't mark an incoming message read even you are in the message view, and if you have just clicked a thread with new message(s), the input panel will not pop to let you type, and it will hide even you've pulled it out.

however, the reminder action works with in the message view. it's good to have it.

Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20748 Kitchen

The other kitchen Build 19716.1 Thread has picture with 48.34Mb Program mem Total....

EDIT: My Helmi build 19716.1 has 41.31 Program mem Total.
My LennySH 6.1 has 46.33 Prog mem Total... woops now 41.31..
This new kitchen for me says 41.31 Program mem Total.
Does anyone else have different amounts?
I am looking to see which one runs best with only 6-7meg program mem frree (for manila files).

EDIT: DUH ! I found my pagepool settings took away from the Program mem, not the storage mem, so now its a matter if finding the "sweet spot" of pagepool setting for my progs. :l

EDIT: So the 41.31 was because of setting 14 pagepool which I'm now leaving at 9, which gives me more Prog mem for running programs...

Finally, open up your selextions file in the Projects folder and add following to it:
PatchDir=C:\Program Files\PPCkitchen.org\BuildOS\Patches

that will pick up the patch folder and apply it when you build a rom with that selections file.
This seems to work for one build, then won't allow BuildOS to open using that selections.txt. Others open OK. The problem is Unhandled Exceptions, specifically a generic "key not found in dictionary".

I was just adding the line for Patches at the end of the file. Sometimes it seems to get moved to the top or the middle.

I think there is something I don't understand about editing the selections.txt.

Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20748 Kitchen

I continue to have the same issues with .net cf 3.5. It is NOT in there by default. I removed buildos completely 100%, reinstalled, used a stock selections, and .net 3.5 was not installed. Nor is it listed as an OEM.

I reinstalled today, so I made sure to get the latest updates.

Ideas?

Michael

Re: Apache WM6.1 Build 20748 Kitchen

i just cannot download the oem files by using the updater. i keep it there for about 20 minutes and get a response saying"the buildOS file cannot be copied." i log on ppckitchen.org, and find nothing but a few user-posted OEMs.
help is appreciated!
