If I put the phone in bootloader mode (v 1.00) and connect it to my pc (running vista) and it recognizes that its plugged in. So I run the RUU but then it ends up giving me this error 101 about a connection error. So then i'll turn the phone on sync it so its connected and try to run the RUU again and i'll end up getting the same error about a connection error. Has anyone else run into this problem or found any solutions for it?

MobileDeviceCenter(Vista) and 1.00 bootloader are not happy campers. You can try reinstalling MobildDeviceCenter, but you'll likely have to upgrade your bootloader to 1.02 or later.
