active sync seems to run a whole lot slower. it seems that its even slower than the 1620 build. strange though since the device itself has quicker response. anyone else seeing slower active sync times?

here is a weird bug i havent seen. when i run some programs, like open the camera, then click options, when it switches to options it flips to the dialer, then to options, when i go back and close the camera, it goes to the dialer. kinda annoying. Im using the touch dialer, but everything else works fine. happens with other random programs, but not others

Did you install PIE+, Flash stuff, SPB Pocket+, or anything else that plugs into or modifies PIE?

Thanks!
I know I was posting in the car with my kid crying (I wasn't driving) and I was trying to look up movie times. The phone kept locking up going to harkinstheatres.com. Standard PIE, no Flash. It locked up on another page, too, but I can't remember which one. As soon as I hit Post, I knew I was gonna get nailed!

Random appearances of the dialer seem to be correlated with the HTC Vogue skin and possibly the particular task manager/program closer app you chose.

I don't think an exact cause has been narrowed down, but try building without one of those things and see if the problem still occurs.

Changing mms.sprintpcs.com to pcs-mmsc.sun3.lightsurf.net didn't work for me, but changing to 63.215.195.152 works.

I narrowed it down to a problem of the HTC Task Manager 2.0. I rebuilt with the 1.5 version and the problem went away (and I'm still using the Vogue dialer).

Yeah seems to occur when Vogue dialer is combined with Task Manager 2.0. If you use a different dialer with 2.0 it seems OK, and if you use Vogue dialer with Task Manager 1.5 or another task closer then it also seems OK.

I've not played with it much but yeah it's more or less the same. It is a "true" touch skin created for CDMA by HTC, whereas the Touch skin in the kitchen was put together by a couple of talented Mogul users over at pdaphonehome to make a touch-style skin for the Mogul/Apache (since the GSM ones break several important functions on CDMA devices).

Oh one other glitch with the Vogue dialer is that it will pop up a warning whenver you try to make a call while roaming. That's the "call guard" functionality that is designed to alert you so you don't rack up tons of roaming fees (although I think 90% of us have free roaming now anyway). On the Vogue there's an option to turn that warning off, but not on the Apache. So if you use the Vogue dialer you're stuck with that warning when in roaming areas (this was reported by I think two users--I haven't tested for it myself yet though).

I think in general the "Touch" skin is the way to go if you want that style of dialpad.
