Looks like I spoke too soon. I am trying to install some software/transfer files at work again today and it keeps locking up at the wm boot screen. I tried my idea of rebooting while USB is connected and it still locked up .

I then rebooted with the SD card out and it booted fine. Grr..

i Verizonguy and others, I hope you can answer this question: Do I do the upgrade to WM6_apac_kitchen_04 or to the "new"XV6700 AKU3?

Background: Upgraded to WM6 last month, and its a little slower then the AKU I had, and the battery life is shorter. I am a little tech saavy, but after reading the kitchen pdf, i dont want to screw it up. It sounds like the kitchen, i have to choose the pieces. or is it as easy as the wm6 for verizon, just hit install. Thanks in advance of some advice.

I just rebooted both the PC and PPC (for the 100th time) and everything seems OK again...

It just depends on what you want from the ROM. The kitchen will let you select/deselect options for stock items you want/dont want installed, whereas the AKU3 ROM comes loaded with stuff you probably dont need, but it is probably more stable since the Kitchen is in Beta (maybe even Alpha) and the AKU3 is an official release. The kitchen is not hard to use, but reading through the pdf is a good idea. Just be prepared to run into some minor problems since, as i said before this is a beta released primarily for testing.

I got the same with the .4 kitchen rom. I just flashed back to the latest Sprint rom using the bootloader and left it at that for now. To do that, just hold power/record buttons down simultaneously and it will show SERIAL on your un-backlit screen. When you plug it into your usb/cradle, you can then flash it with the Sprint rom. I'm sure other roms will flash onto it that way, too, but I only tried Sprint.

Of note, when not in bootloader mode, I still get the Error 100 message even though my Sprint rom is on it and I even let the EXTROM run.

VZguy, I wish you the speediest recovery, and would like to thank you for all you've contributed to the community.

I would just like to ask if anyone would be so kind to point me to an OEM MSVC 1.6 in the FTP. I've searched everywhere there but cannot seem find it.

Thanks

Thanks first to Hemi and then to all of the others who have done this work. Been running v.4 for over 24 hours. Doing great. Like someone earlier said:
Vista Hide, weatherPanel and a few others all from the WM5 kitchen.
Based on an OEM from TOV I would like to add two OEMs for freeware Bible readers that work with WM6. Readers are free as are some translations. Go to the web pages of each of these programs for the Bibles. I didn't include them in the OEM since many of the forum readers prefer a native language Bible. And the downloaded Bibles run just fine from the Storage card.

hahahahaha

I have the same thing.....
Are you the typa personality or just stressed. Minehas been this way for about a 18 months. Night time really sucks cause the reflective coatinf on street signs doesnt show up. I cant read them till I am right on top of them. I see ( or rather) dont see any thing in the blind areas. No light, no dark, no colors. It actuall funny. The guys at work watch me staer out of one eye and wonder what I am doing. I put the blind spot on thier faces. . straight line are also fun to play with. Back in my wonger days (drugs and alchol) I could have kept my mind busy fer days.
On a more serious note, Test cant be done to confirm this) Ephodrine Hydrocodone (?) has been suspected of cause this same problem. Meth has become such a problem it hampers the studies to the point they cant be done.
My doctor put me on an antidressoin (lexapro) to relive work related stress. Hoping the stress was the trigger. Oh yeah steriods have also bee a suspect.

I was scared shitless whan I found out my sight was going bad. I figured a tumor or something.

Its not bnad to live with, It comes and goes. Never in the same spots. Any grey areas of your pics were old "dried up" spots.

tHE PICS ARE AWSOME THOUGH.

NOT SPELL CHECKIN

A note to the moderators:
Do you think a thread with OEMs that work with this kitchen but not in it could be started ? ( see my post two replies up )
I'd require them to be freeware or fully original.
It might make the kitchen grow faster since each of us could find our "old favorite programs" and add them ourselves.
The only problem I see so far is possible dupliction of unique Id numbers since many of us used the same program to generate them.
