Smile Issues/Questions about 0.6b Kitchen

Ok I have tried to use the new 0.6b kitchen and I have a couple of observations/questions/issues for VerizonGuy.

1) First when taking all the defaults I have noticed that the Comm Mgr is the default that came with the vendor ROM. There was the better laid out one that was the default when I used VZG's built ROM. With the kitchen I am not sure what option to choose to get this back. I guess the Wireless Mgr in the Connections screen can be changed?

2) On the top of the Home Screen there used to be a battery meter that was next to the speaker icon. This was available when using the built ROM. With the kitchen this is now replaced by a time icon. What option do I pick when I am using to the kitchen to get this back?

3) Is there a way to save the options picked in the kitchen, so that it can be compared from version to version when the ROM is built and installed? That would be very helpful.

VZG keep up the fantastic work. This is really getting good, and now with your decision to not develop the i760 I am going to work with the 6700 for a bit longer.

Thanks,
Steve

Are you using some sort of download "assistant"? None of mine work on those links. And the link on VG's page just goes to the an HTML list of the FTP directory. You also want to make sure that the ID/PW is getting entered correctly.
ftp://ppcgeeks:ezupload@up.ppcgeeks....en_%200.6b.rar
This link should enter them both and start the download. If not, I'd go to ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Apache/Kitchens/ and enter the info manually.

The download is via ftp protocol. It is possible your browser is having an issue with it. Download an ftp client if you have to.
server: up.ppcgeeks.com
port: 21
user: ppcgeeks
password: ezupload
go to the apache folder, then kitchens folder.

For an ftp client, if you can acquire a copy of cuteftp, that is what I use, but if you want a free one, this will work:

"You also want to make sure that the ID/PW is getting entered correctly."

That explains my problem. I have no ID or password. I was never prompted for one and the site just errors out. I assumed by being logged into this site I should be fine. Can somebody point me to where I need to sign up for access to the downloads?

Sorry about my ignorance. I feel like a moron.

BTW, what's with the jokes about Kirwin's rom? Is he the one that ticked HELMI off by not giving credit?

Not sure what jokes you are referring to (haven't read through the end of the thread yet) but yes, there was some friction regarding the way Kirwin's ROM was presented. Hopefully, that's all cleared up now. Kirwin's mods were appreciated by many people.

Holy cow Batman!
Amazing the difference in small changes.
I changed my personal OEM and IT worked fine with this Kitchen.
I didn't install the HTC Home plugin and this thing booted up in record time. I also l left out the HTC task manager since it seems to slow things down a little~ the task manager in iLauncher is very effective.
My first sync went very quickly.... and now installing my non-ROM programs.

I tried playing around with some of the different dialer-pads last night. Got strange results, so I don't think I'll mess around with them until they have better WM6 installers. I also tried using WisbarAdvance3 again. Nice, but probably not worth the effort.

you simply need the carrier code.
Take the original helmi rom you downloaded (http://rapidshare.com/files/52162368/Reli0.rar.html) and use the HTC64 tool to decode it. This will generate the prj file for you with a carrier code. Just take the carrier code and use one of the other prj files replacing the carrier code.
