I updated the title of the thread, this is an offical press statement. The quest is almost over.

Retail is $199.99 with a $50 rebate ($149.99) on Verizonwireless.com on May 26th but, will not be in stores till June 2nd. Plus ! Verizon is sweetening the deal with a free Xbox 360 console game (up to $60 in value) for anyone who picks one up before July 15.

Still want to know what the offical off contract price is on this phone, $600 is WAY over priced for a lower end phone (this phone was designed to be a free phone after a 2 year contract).

Re: Verizon Wireless Windows Phone 7 status (official release May 26th)

just read that the HD7S will be coming to AT&T June 5th. Hopefully since I'm out of contract w/Verizon, I'll be able to pit them against one another and get me a nice phone.

Hmmmm...I'm almost thinking what's another 2 weeks.... 3.8" or a 4.3"...

I'll try to buy the Trophy off contract first.

Re: Verizon Wireless Windows Phone 7 status (official release May 26th)

I'd love to get the HD7, but I'm stuck in a dang contract (I can still upgrade my line though). I would have switched to AT&T a long time ago if I wasn't. They have a way better selection of WP7 phones.

Is Verizon getting a limited data plan like AT&T? Like the 2GB for $25 or whatever?

Yep, Verizon will, in time, go to limited data, well, at least that is what sites are posting. Do I know for 100% ? No but, I think it's a dumb move but, it's one of those, everyone else is doing it !

There is no reason to stay with Verizon any more, unless your coverage is that much better with them than any other carrier.

1. No longer a New Every 2 credit (this is somethign they had forever).
2. No 1 year contracts.
3. No other perks for being a long term member

Why would I even stay with them ?

Am I going to get the trophy day one ? No, sad to say, unless they have a very fair non-contract price. I'll wait a week or 2 and buy a used or new from a 3rd party at a better price.

The Trophy is a nice phone but, not worth missing out on models that will be out in 6-8 months for. I'm sure Verizon will get the next gen WP7 models.. in time

I don't see any reason why it wouldn't. The actual CPU and specs are the same as the other WP7 models. Also remember the Trophy was one of the release models overseas, so it's still a pretty big phone over all (a year old phone, reminds me of the Verizon iPhone 4)

Microsoft also said that all models will get upgrades.

Should be fun waiting and waiting for the "next" "new" Big Red phone that everyone will be anticipating for weeks on end...again...which is exactly the position I'll be in if I stay with Verizon... UGH!
