Yes M$ does not manufacture or decide the phones, HTC does. and HTC is the one that completely destroyed window's brand. While Microsoft stood there watching. And HTC was never about "understanding windows"..they just exploited a market with no competition in the most efficient way possible. If they didn't do this they wouldn't have grown as big as they are to day..

HTC always: 1) didn't pay to license the acceleration 2) put minimum ram 3) updated the least necessary hardware so that you update.

Going to have to slightly disagree with you somewhat on this...

I'm pretty sure that Microsoft is larger then HTC, at anytime in the past Microsoft could have said to the manufacturers, "Hey--minimum requirements start now, if you want Windows branding and licensing, they were just as lazy as HTC in my opinion. When M$ finally woke up to smell the coffee, they flipped out and became Applesoft. I don't think the blame is all HTC's to take alone, but agreed they did eff up the Windoze name pretty bad.

Well HTC is doing wonders with android devices, I don't know about the A4 (or whatever they use) running circles around the snapdragon though, the iPad is fast but it's not mind-blowing (A4 1ghz). I honestly can't wait to get my hands on that iPhone 4G though and check it out, it's going to be super sweet and IMO going to blow winpho7 out of the water

According to Samsung the hummingbird can record and playback 1080p..and for a cellphone chip that isn't too bad...

Has it even been confirmed that A4 uses the hummingbird cpu? as far as I knew it was a big mystery as to what the A4 actually IS.

The Tegra2 I think outperforms the A4, but won't be out for a while. it looks like the winph07 phones are using snapdragons, so if indeed the A4 does use hummingbird then the graphics are going to be a lot better on the iPhone 4G than any winph07 phone (especially with the rumored super awesome resolution to go along with the graphics cpu)

Ok what Iam wondering is the people who say windows mobile6.5 sucks what is it you want to do that the phone cant do. I strongly encorage anyone who has a touchpro2 or HD2 to search the forum and the internet to find out the max capabilites of the phone. I want to be fair because how can a phone suck if
1)you can watch movies on the phone
2)you can watch TV on the phone
3) you have great selection of freeware games thats 2D and 3D
4) you can download music for free using the youtube app
5)plus much,much more
And if you dont know how to do what I just listed just ask any exp person here. You can click on someones name and send them a PM. I answer all of mine. Now Iam saying this because if your new to this than of course you might not know whats avalible. I myself being a developer sometimes recieve info even when Iam not searching. PPC GEEKS has some friendly people. Even people that I dont get along to well with will help me out if I ask. Peace

the phone can do everything you said but does it sluggish due to no hardware acceleration.

Yes sometimes the phone is sluggish only sometimes. I watch movies play games etc, the sluggish part only occurs sometimes. But to be fair Iam not the type of person who complains with every little problem. Nothing in this world is perfect. But to say you rather better performance then open source is wierd to me. Whats the point of the phone running smoother but only being able to run limited programs? I am just speaking for myself I rather have full features than limits. Iam not the type of person who falls for hype and glitz and glamor. Everyone who is complaining now will soon realize that what they are asking for is a un-customizable phone. If thats what you wanted iphone4G is the phone of your dreams better to get the original then a duplicate.

Android (open source) has many many more useful apps than windows mobile. Add to that widgets, the ability to update your ROM without wiping, overall better speed and performance, and getting better with every update.

Ok everyone has made good points. But the real point is if you dont know how to use the phone, every phone sucks. But if you do know how to use your phone to max abilities then every phone has something special and fun. Like short but fun SuperMarioGun game thats only for touchpro ,HD2 .

Winmo dropped the ball and i've already moved on...winmo 7 is just a phone there's nothing smart about it.
