if you want to enable internet sharing you may try this on explorer go to Windows/Startup remove HTC_CM_GUARDIAN
softReset

go to Windows remove HTC_CM_GUARDIAN.exe
in registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Comm/InternetSharing/Settings remove forceCellConnection key

this let you choose connection and you can edit the power vision conection from setting/connection/connections

I just installed 23089 and it works much better than the last time I tried CFay's release (but that was a while ago). I've added my old trusty reset button script, as well as the Showcase app (assigned it to my side button and it's awesome, easier to use than the HTC task manager, which, incidentally, I can't get to work using the hold clock icon method described above). I did the registry tweak to deactivate the built-in key lock in lieu of the slider one, but I hope it doesn't dial in my pocket as another user mentions happens to him.

I have a couple of remaining issues, and for clarity's sake, I'll post them in separate replies.

But, I do have to say: THANK YOU ACIDHAX for your great work and your continued support and patience with all of us!

My First Issue: Internet Connection Sharing won't work. The data connection seems to be working perfectly in all other respects, but when I try to connect from within ICS, I get:

Data Call Failure (Error code: 67 Registration Failure)

Any ideas? Thanks.

i used PHM RegEdit but it does not matter what program you use,
the most important is that your program can edit the registry.

Bigger problem arrived last night.

There is a program installed called LockDevice. I checked it out, and when I tried to exit, it produced an error. I don't recall the error exactly, but it was something about not being able to write to a file. Probably trying to save some prefs. Anyway, after that, the slider lock no longer worked. I tried everything I could, but to no avail. And none of the settings restored it. Worse still, after that, I could no longer start the phone from a soft reset. The phone would restart but the start button didn't work (neither the hard or soft buttons), and the top bar was gone. I had to do a hard reset and start over. Now I am afraid to do too much playing at all for fear that it won't let me restart the phone. I especially don't want to touch the LockDevice icon, even if by mistake.

It doesn't seem like it was LockDevice that did that. You did something else that modified the shell. The error happens because it's not meant for being included in ROMS. Harmless error.

Can you provide a single stripped down ROM that includes all the fixes, performance tweaks and such?

Basically a "Generic" ROM that works well and then we can add the "bloat" that we want.
