Dont disconnect your usb cable for any reason, because if you disconnect mid-flash it might brick your phone. Also, im on sprint myself and it works perfectly fine with sprint. Worst case, you might have to reset the settings in the diagnostic menu, but I havent had to do that so I dont think you will either.

PS. Thanks to CFAY for these custom roms. I am using 1.52 atm and its working just fine for me. I just wish I knew where to find these programs and reg tweaks you guys talk about.

I ran the unlocker (hardspl) and i went thru the menus and at some point it said Error 206: connection, and my phone had horizontal color'd bars. I reconnected the usb, but my phone is still in colored bars.. did i brick my phone??

I connected my phone via activesyng and ran PANTHER_CDMA_HSPL_V101.

i went thru the menus of the application and made sure everything is connected. then my phone turned to the horizontal colored bars.. and i got the error 206 Connection on the application.

it said in the first post of the "Official WM6.5.1 Custom ROM Discussion Thread" (http://discussion.treocentral.com/tr...on-thread.html) thread to reconnect USB when this happens.. i did so.
nothing happened. so i hit Exit on the error 206 screen.

Now my phone is stuck on the horizontal bars screen. and the HardSPL program does nothing..

Did i just brick my phone??

I'm really panicking now... help

this is how you can compare xp to vista (just aesthetics but sucks) versus comparing.. xp and win7 (where win7 is both visually appealing but more importantly faster and more stable!). so my question is, is the 6.5 rom an improvement in sense of speed and stability or is it just all visual graphics that people are going nuts for?

Before you consider all of those questions you ask you must realize that windows mobile 6.5 was never meant for the palm treo pro. Its because of cfay's hard work that it is even possible to do so. That being said, it does get sluggish at times (some fixes are out for some of these issues) and not everything works as it should (mostly from bugs, hence why we have 1.5 and 1.52). I have not had it on my phone long enough to tell you weather there are more features or not, however I can tell you that it is more visually cool then 6.0...lol. Im sure there are more features, I just need more time with it to tell you more specific's. Im sure someone else here can tell you whats better about it other then just cool theme's and such. Actually one of the things I like about it is the scrolling feature like an iphone has, but other then that I couldnt tell you. I hope I answered your questions.

Dont quote me on this because I never had your problem, but I believe that just means it couldnt connect to your phone. You should be able to do a soft reset and try again. You also might consiter doing a hard reset once you get the phone to come back up to prevent any issues from happening again.

so the horizontal bars being stuck on the screen means it was able to unlock it?
is that what im expected to see?
i'm confused why it would be stuck on that screen...

is this part of the unlocking? do i need to wait to let it finish?
do i reset the phone because its complete?

While in the bootloader, try unplugging the USB cable and try plugging it back in. Then try running the application again.

i did that 2 times, the second time i plugged it into a diferent usb port and it said it was instaling the device from windows screen, so i knew its definiately recognizing the USB.

so thats what its called? i am on the bootloader screen? so yes

i'm stuck on it.

Press the power button and side button, and take out and replace the battery. You should see colored bars on the screen. What does it say on the colored screen? If it says CMONEX at the end, you're good to go. Connect the USB cable, and run the firmware flasher.

which side button? theres 3 of them.

I tried power+wifi button. did nothing. still in colord screen, which says "PANT200" btw... not Cmoneyx

I tried power+camera button. did nothing

I tried power+volume (up/down) button. did nothing


I did google how to do a hard reset..is that what youre asking me to do? I found this

First press the reset pin and hold down the power button at the same time. Release the pin but still hold down the power button.

Update:

I did disconnect/reconnect USB during the screens of the Hardspl unlocking app by cmonex and then it was able to go a step further.. it asked me to update rom.

but that also fails.. because it goes from 0 to 100% in just 20 seconds or so. and i dont think it did anything..


i clicked Update


this finished in 20 seconds or so..






ill donate as soon as this thing works!
