Re: Treo Pro CDMA HardSPL

Tried this 15 times and failed every time. Even tried manually but I dont get how to run the RUU file. Just doesnt seem to work...constantly says no connection after the tricolor screen comes on. When I try and reconnect all it wants to do it exit then ask for money for support? This is very confusing.

Did you try flashing from the SD Card? Make sure your SD is formated FAT32 and take the signed_ruu.nbh file and rename it PANTIMG.nbh and place it on the root of your sd card then restart your phone while holding the side camera button and the top screen off button together. Then follow on screen instructions. Your phone might get stuck in an infinite loop but thats ok, just take your sd card out and flash any rom you like

Hi, can you explain exactly how you got the official sprint rom to work? I am stuck in bootloader with the same situation. Thanks so much!

Re: Treo Pro CDMA HardSPL

Thank you cmonex, and the others that have posted their advice and experiences in this thread. Unsuccessfully tried the MicroSD option, then went with the USB method - unplugging worked perfectly.

depending on how u r flashing the rom. I only have a rom update utility, meaning i can only flash my stock rom via usb. if u have an sd card with a PANTIMG.nbh file on it. delete it or put it in a folder.

Re: Treo Pro CDMA HardSPL

Nothing I do seems to work. This is very odd. I have tried multiple computers (Windows XP), the directions in the thread, and so forth, nothing.

- I get the tri-color screen fine.
- I then get a connection error.
- If I unplug the and replug usb at tri-color screen, it lets me continue, however one thing. It only takes 20 seconds to show 100 percent upload, however nothing is uloaded.
- Followed instructions for flashing via sd card and no luck.

Help. Nothing seems to be working.

Re: Treo Pro CDMA HardSPL

I've gotten myself stuck between a rock and a hard place here. I did a MicroSD unlock and the phone ended up stuck at the bootloader screen permanently, saying "ROM code upgrade failed". At that point, suddenly the computer stopped recognizing that the phone was plugged in(not even as the "Microsoft USB Sync") and I gave up for the time being. I did some reading on the forum today and found that all I needed to do was run the install program for WM 6.5. However the phone's battery was dead by this point, and I found that, when plugged in, the device will only charge to the point where it will power on, after the bootloader screen loads it stops charging. While the 6.5 install program can now see the device and begin the install process after 30 seconds the device dies of low battery. How do I stop the bootloader from cutting off the charging process?

Re: Treo Pro CDMA HardSPL

UPDATE: Everything is ok now, got it to work by unplugging as soon as SSPL showed up and replugging in. The SD card flash never worked unfortunately. I will now flash a new rom on it.

BTW the reason why it was recognized as a CD drive was because stupid Palm built that software in for setup the computer, and you had to get through that and choose sync with computer, either on the phone or on the computer.

Ok I'm having serious issues. I tried to HSPL unlock through usb cable. Here's what I did:

1. Plug Treo Pro in - recognized
2. run panther_cdma_HSPL
3. SSPL boots up and the loses connection. I didn't read enough I guess, so I HSPLed other phones and went forward. I tried unplugging it and it didn't work so I proceeded to do a hard reset of the phone. Anyway. Now when I plug the phone in, it shows up as a TREO USB2.0 USB Device under DVD/CD-ROM drives. I tried using the SD Card method (fat32, renaming the nbh file, putting it in the root, and restarting phone with top power and camera button held while pushing reset), and it just goes to Loading....for a long time with no response.

I tried installing the Eanablerpinew for syncing issues, with no results. Any suggestions appreciated. It won't establish a connectin with windows mobile device center, I'm on Win 7.

Finally I just ran the manual Panther.exe on the device and it booted into the bootloader, and I connect it via usb, win7 recognizes it as mobile device, but a generic Microsoft USB Sync, that's what shows in the device manager, so I'm a bit lost lol.

Re: Panther_CDMA (treo pro CDMA) Hard-SPL is here now!

Hey cmonex, I have a treo pro that I really like - and I am very interested in doing the upgrade you are referring to (winmobile 6.5). I have done alot of tinkering with earlier phones and windows ce stuff, but I have never gotten into anything as extensive as upgrading a phones op system. I am a newbie to this level of tinkering, so I apologize for my low level of understanding, but I still want to do it.

Can you help me - primarily on the basics..

For instance:
Does my phone have to be unlocked? If so, how?

Thank you in advance.

I will thank you at the end of this as well($$).
