Re: [ Kitchen ][ 1-11 ][ v1.4 ][ 23518 / 21888 / 21056 ] Calkulin's Visual WVGA Kitch

Ok, I knew I had a reason to post before - major problem.

Alarm works ok in 28217 (which didn't work in 21889!)... but my text inbox is still getting "stuck" is the best way to describe it.

After a while of uptime (anything from a few minutes to a few hours) tmail.exe will get stuck. In 21889 it just wouldn't open - tapping all messages wouldn't open the app, and I couldn't send or recieve messages. In 28217 - it still opens, and everything seems to work fine. If I send a message while it's stuck, I just get the spinning balls and it stays there.

While it's stuck, I won't get texts, nor will they arrive after the phone has been restarted. My GF just called me, rather irritated, wondering why I haven't replied to any of her texts today - because I haven't got any of them! Nor will I ever, they're just lost in the ether. It's a Sprint TP2, and it has the WU radio, with a T-Mobile prepaid SIM card (unactivated yet) in it... I get the feeling that may be causing issues? BUT this only started happening since I've started using this kitchen. I never had problems on the stock ROM.

Anyone else getting this, or heard of it? I can't believe I'm the only one... Am I just forgetting something in the kitchen? Texting works fine for a while but randomly stops. I don't use PIM backup, only MyPhone and its syncing doesn't seem to have anything to do with tmail locking up because sync doesn't happen till 3am or so, and it will freeze up any time. I've cleared my text inbox, and with only 3 texts total in it, it locked up today. This is really irritating

I have this problem, I have two sip's touchpal and the other is swype - extras touchpal is default i can change from touchpal to swype and back but if I try the stock keyboard a message comes up for a sec and the phone restarts before i can read it. weird.

Anyone know how I can get activesync icon not to be added to the start menu during build. I am working on getting all my icons in folders in the kitchen and I have been successful in getting majority of them figured out but i can not find active sync, problem is i believe the .lnk file does not already exist maybe it gets created during build?

Alright thanks, I'll give it a try. And is it possible to remap the end/power key back to psShutXP? Sorry in advance if these are dumb questions. I just got my TP2 a couple weeks ago and just started really looking at all this rom stuff a few days ago.

*EDIT*
Thanks, that top button did the trick. And you were dead on about the verizon provisioning. I just used the old one and voila, end/power key back in business.

I was using it while texting and it was a crapshoot. Sometimes it would work no problem and other times it would freeze up manila and I would have to restart.

Everything runs great when I build with any 6.5 sys, but every time I use a 6.5.X sys I get the messaging problem you explained with your 21889 build. I have rebuilt a million ways and can't get messaging to work on a 6.5.X build. I don't use manila, but don't know why that would affect messaging like that. When I click on a message it won't open. If I click new to send something, nothing happens ... I don't even get the rolling circles.

I try again with each new kitchen, but can't figure it out. I've stuck with 6.5 builds and they work great ... just would be great to use the 6.5.X stuff.

I guess all of that wasn't helpful. I just didn't want you to feel alone.

Maybe not, but it helps. I have been choosing 6.5.x on the build lists but it didn't really make any difference, or so it seemed. That'll be my thing to change.

You'll get the spinning balls if you send it via the WM messaging client (by composing a brand new message)... I don't remember what the HTC client did)... Looks like I'm going to have to spend a little more time cooking ROMs tonight trying to find a workable solution.

Here's to hoping Calkulin knows something about it?
