[SPRINT RADIO Unlocker]Sprint RhodiumW WU Radio Unlocked for US Networks

To flash this do we need to have a activated GSM sim inserted or does it need to be the sprint sim that came with the phone? I assuming the sprint sim since its for the radio but don't want to take a chance of messing things up.

Ok, so far in my searching I have not found a straight answer to this question: Does this combination of unlocker and radio flash unlock the US 3G bands? I know there are other unlockers out there that unlock US GSM networks but they don't unlock the US 3G 850/1900 UMTS bands.

Can anyone confirm that after doing this operation they are getting the USA 3G networks....not just EDGE speeds?

Here is you answer, no 3g on US GSM networks. Only Edge. US GSM 3G carriers use different frequency bands.

The question thats been driving me crazy is whether or not the second radio does any kind of 3g?! Per this CNET review, the TP2 does NOT, naturally, support intl 3g. Contradictorily, PDADb says the second radio supports UMTS2100. Does this radio patch enable such functionality? It would make sense, since I had heard that other carrier's versions of the TP2 did do intl 3g.

Any info would be great as I would like to be able to move abroad and not purchase a new handset. Thanks!

I sim unlocked my handset and flashed the patched radio. My phone shows 3G when I switch to ATT Service. I have not tested the data since I only have a prepaid sim card with a few bucks on it left.

Also from my previous testing, When I switch to GSM mode and connect to AT%T Network, the phone pops up a connection settings wizard, I assume to change the data settings. When I chose ATT and the phone programmed, after switching back to CDMA the internet was not working as before. That's about all the info I can provide.

3G? really? show me a screenshot? just to be sure, "G" is not 3G, that's GPRS. "3G" or "H" icon will mean 3G. "E" means EDGE.

try the cab another user mentioned for fixing data.

it supports 2100 3G even unpatched. my Sprint TP2 logs to HSDPA in Hungary happily.
of course for verizon/telus you have to SIM unlock first.

Putting my ATT SIM in gets me onto the network, and I can make/receive calls over GSM, but using the data settings for ATT fail to make a connection. Any ideas?

I am using:

User: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Pass: CINGULAR1
