Read my first post, two more posts up from the one you replied to for more detail. I just got my phone, it has a gimpy C key (only works with very hard presses, unusable for normal typing). Store said they'de provide replacement since it's been an issue since day one. Just gotta wait on them to get more in stock (should be this week). I waited for months for my carrier to get the TP2. It was released on the 22nd of November through my carrier and I showed up to buy one and was told to wait a couple days till they ran their black friday/four day sale. Needless to say I wasn't the only one who knew about it and they sold out fast (esspecially since they were literally giving them away during this four day/black friday sale). They were sold out within 6 hours of day 1. I was quite upset I hadn't went ahead and purchased it at the date of release. Lucky for me the store already had a shipment in transit that arrived the last day of the sale. That's when I got mine.

You will also note in my first post to this thread, I called the ungrateful people who wouldn't donate to good people for good work "bad folk". If I tried their unlocker on this phone to make some quick ROM tests before returning it (is always the chance something could go wrong) and liked the option of flashable ROMs enough to make use of it for personal use, and wanted to run it on the phone I end up with for the long term, I likely would donate. I do not consider myself "bad folk" and have been compiling a list of the otherwise free and unlimited themes and addons and programs that I find useful to donate to.

They claim "free for personal use". I understand my situation is unique, and could fully accept that. But I just sat and read this thread beginning to end. There are many issues with people unable to run it once,, acknowledged by cmonex. He even stated he would discuss raising the limit to two with his partner. It would eliminate the issues with the few folk that can't get it to run the first time, and also for some of those that get a first replacement device (such as myself). This is still far from allowing commercial use.

They need to quit calling it a donation, it is trialware at best. They need to come up with a method of protection that doesn't rely on any form of limitations to what it's actually intended to be, which is free for personal use.

If programming of any sort was my profession or hobby, I likely would write my own code for many things. If I wanted to create (or in this case alter) something such as this for personal use and use of a community, that's what it would be. If it was a commercial venture, that's fine too, but at least say so.

that sucks that the keyboard died already. They did say they will give you additional unlocks for replacements though.

Today is the first day I have investigated such a thing. I've been busy playing with all the cool themes and apps and such ya find all throughout this truely wonderful (ppc)geek-toyland utopia. (building a donation list for the things I like and plan on using from now on. I change very little once I test everything and see what I will use, I just changed from a moto razr V3M, sticking with what works isn't a problem for me)

I've read this thread beginning to end, and from all I've seen, and all I've acomplished on my phone up to this point, I'm unsure I even wanna install this code. I haven't contacted them about a fresh unlock once I replace the phone. It wasn't until reading the thread I realized the process to unlock these phones was gimped by commercial aspirations. From what I learned, once an attempt to contact them is made it will be a few days (debatable on how many days) before a reply is made (definately not commercial level support). There were more current posts here than that, so this is where I posted my thoughts/feelings/concerns about all I learned in the nearly hundred pages of this thread. I thought maybe some public outcry would rush things on this relaxing of the ridiculous one phone per person rule. Heck, during the (giveaway) sale I saw a family of 5 get the last 4 TP2s that store had from the shipment mine arrived in (they would have gotten 5 if there were that many in the store). These guys could easily raise it that high (4) and prevent 99% of all commercial uses. The way it is now, they're even preventing those that they advertise it being for (free for personal use) from using it.

I was going to unlock and play with a few ROMs today, and if they got a shipment in tomorrow (or whenever), relock, return, and if the experience was plesant, maybe continue said playing and testing on the new phone till I find my sweet spot. After reading tho, I'm unsure whether these guys are actually out to help the community or themselves. With a phone that was as sweet as it needs to be straight out of the box, I don't know if it's worth playing games with folk who advertise free for personal use and restrict usage to the point users have issues using it at all, all the while using a data collection method to perform their usage restrictions that is collecting data that they have absolutely no business with...

People who are so untrusting and worried they'll get screwed out of a "donation" for commercial uses that they will hinder the basic operation of their own work should cause concern in any rational person of these guy's overall trustworthiness.

Not making any form of accusation, it's most likely they simply wanted money for their effort and there is nothing wrong with that, the round about back handed way they go about it is...

Getting an error, "Data corrupted, please contact us for help or try again later(1 hours time)"

This is after I select automatic flash and press ok...

I cannot disable my firewall (work laptop w/corperate policies ](*,)) but added the unlocker to the allow list. Have rebooted my PC, the phone and ensured solid WMDC connectivity. Phone is freshly hard reset.

Suggestions?

Got my Sprint TP2 today... tried the hard-spl to unlock to switch roms.
Got an error after clicking "ok" in the first window that pops up after launching RhodiumW-HardSPL_V1_10R3.exe ... then an error pops up saying "corrupted data" and exits out. I dowloaded hard-spl again and same problem. running it on 32bit vista.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I need to unlock my Verizon phone, but I dont have internet access (I am using internet through tethering). How can I get it unlocked since this unlocker requires internet access to do it?

well you will need to find another internet connection then. lol.
