Re: RhodiumW CDMA Worldphone HardSPL Unlocker Release

I don’t know if this is the right forum if not please direct me to the right one
I’m looking for info what should I do to have my phone released from sprint to connect with cricket

I got tp2 sprint new never activated .After few misunderstanding issues finally managed to
get the Hard SPL and Energy ROM installed ,run unlocker only 2 steps Security; SIM; CID (mark em all)
Got 2.05.00WU radio (run as administrator) .I know it sounds easy but it wasn’t , lots of confusion and
frustration .

Now at GSM network all settings are available I can see ATT & Tmobil and add new networks to list.
I’m guessing that if I put ATT simcard it would work but it is not the point
At CDMA network setting I can’t do nothing I got Sprint

Did I screwed up the unlocking process ?
Why my ESN is with Sprint?
I’m completely new to phones and I would gladly learn how things work in this matter
(I did donate to cimonex and I did pay for unlocker)

Someone else will correct me if things are different in the US, but AFAIK with CDMA there is something called a PRL (preferred roaming list) which tells the phone what networks it is allowed to connect to, which ones are home, and which ones are roaming. Unless you're able to get a PRL specific to the network that you want to connect to, or make one of your own (which isn't terribly easy) then you won't be able to connect to a different CDMA network than the one that the phone originated on.

You can try calling up Cricket and telling them that you have an unlocked TP2 that you would like to use on their network and see what they say. They may be able to provide you with all the instructions needed to get it working on their network.

What did they say when you told them about that error message?

Cricket won't care that you have a phone branded by another carrier, as they already know that much by the fact that you had to give them your IMEI and it wasn't in their system. They're likely the only ones that'll be able to easily help you.

Is that where is my problem?
Does cricket releases my ESN from sprint?
is that how it works?
or I have done something wrong unlocking the phone?

No, as I mentioned the phone needs a PRL which tells it which networks it is allowed to connect to. The PRL is a file that is normally loaded at the factory but can be loaded by an end-user if you have the proper tools.

Cricket may know a shortcut to changing the PRL or they may be able to load the new PRL in-store. I've never dealt with them so I don't know. But I don't think there is any harm in calling them back to tell them that you're getting an error message when you try doing the activation.

Under network everything should be gray, under "CDMA Settings" all options should be available but there is nothing under that tab about chosing the network that you're on.
