Not sure about the other roms cause I am on the latest 23504.. All I did was after a Hard Reset I skipped the JMZ Provisioning. Then I Used the Disable HTC Messaging cab.. Softrest.. Then I changed my server settings to work with Sprint.. I also went in and changed the registry settings so I could send more than 300k..

this sounds like the usual way where you disable the HTC messaging app.... I thought the OP stated that the user was able to use both the HTC and WM messaging. They could receive the message in HTC and send using the WM app. (BTW this is how it works in manilia 2.1)

Since you said that you are using the 23504 build, I have a question for you. In the other build, there is an icon in the top task bar to look at running programs/memory etc. In the 23504 build I do not have that icon. Is there a way to get access those items quickly in the 23504 build? Thanks in advance.

Yes, in the upper left corner of the screen where the old start menu was. NRG included a little hotspot that will allow you access to the old start menu where you can also close down or switch to different running tasks. Its pretty hard to reach with my fingers so I generally use the stylus to do so. For memory I have the app System Info linked in my programs shortcut on the home screen. You can also get Task Facade which is a free app that you can link to your send call (long hold) which will also let you be able to switch tasks quickly too. I believe that app still works but don't currently have it installed. You can google Task Facade 4 and it should be the first link.

you're correct. ace posted how to do that. the method we're using isn't a hybrid.
