No kidding! I want a phone like the TP2 with a snapdragon... Or a "Leo Pro" with a full qwerty.
Who knows, maybe HTC is going to give us a sweet Christmas.

the snapdragon processor (lets use numbers), equals to 1028 mhz, our phone equals to 512mhz.
So the snapdragon processor alocate 512mhz to run Sense 2.6 so that leaves another 512mhz for the phone normal usage, so thats why things are laggy and not chrisp. the numbers are a far fetch scale but I believe you get the point

hmm having some trouble disabling the htc messenger still. When I go to the SMS tab and click the message it opens the HTC Messenger and then immediately closes and put me back on the sms tab in manillia. Followed those 4 manual steps (added what I did below each step:

Manual Steps

Step 1.
Disable HTC messaging service by either removing the registry or rename the DLL in HKLM\services\MSG. e.g. I rename "MessagingService.dll" to "MessagingService.dllx" This will enable Winmo to take over the entire messaging send/receive function, without this, you can only receive text messages but not able to use winmo app to send terxt message (Although you can still send using the slow HTC messaging app, but it'll create some inconsistency).

*Found this key and deleted it.
Step 2.
Change the default text messaging app from HTC messaging to Winmo's Pocket outlook (tmail.exe) by removing the registry or renaming the account in HKLM\system\inbox\externalaccounts. In my case, I rename "SMS" to "SMS.htc"

* I didnt see a key in this folder called sms so I figured he meant the folder, which I deleted.
Step 3.
Install the attached cab file to fix the missing unread count status (read below for more information)

*Installed latest cab
Step 4Soft reset your phone, and you are set to go!

*Done

What did I do wrong? Thanks for the help!

um, no, if its 1ghz, that means its gonna run everything twice as fast as our phones (or at least load them twice as fast) it wont split half the cpu for phone and the other half just for sense

no I was just making a point on why the snapdragon processor is superior and why sense 2.5/6 is somewhat laggy on our devices. It was done for a previous members thats did not see why...

I installed and changed the items and it works great but get an "invalid argument" pop up and it asks if I want to try again. I noticed two others had this issue and both with no answer. The mms works but the pop up is annoying. Suggestions? I expect it is another reg hack?

I did install the cab before doing the first couple steps. I caught the error and uninstalled the cab and did the the steps correctly, do you think caused this? What should I do? Thinking of doing a hard reset...

I have a recurring issue that I am curious to know if anyone else is experiencing. I have seen this in R3, R4 and R5. The task manager disappears and manila slows to a crawl. Soft resets do not help but after some amount of time, usually about an hour, the task manager reappears and everything returns to normal. Initially I was hard resetting to clear this but have learned with a little bit a patience things will sort themselves out. It starts about 2 days after a hard reset. I was patient once and did not load anything other than my contacts from MyPhone to see if it was some conflict with other apps but it still cropped up. Anyone else seeing this?

everyone: Should I just remove HTC Messaging? It could just be installed afterwards, as it seems to cause more issues than anything else.

I'd say get rid of HTC messaging and contact amarullz and get his help in developing THIS for WVGA.

+1 for removing HTC Messaging...

I'd much rather have SMS and MMS working 100% through Manilla and/or WM Messaging than have the buggy HTC Messaging.

I have no need to keep hundred's of messages and I have never had a problem with HTC messaging. I for one would like to keep it if you don't mind. I have it so I view my MMS messages in it and it works flawlessly.

for the clock, install this and soft reset, as for landscape, manila 2.5 was made for the leo which doesn't have a keyboard so only the photos tab and music tab natively works in landscape when rotated

thanks for looking into the issue, i love this rom so much that i'll continue to run it even at the risk of not hearing my calls come in (at least it lights up), i was able to find this thread and this post about a similar problem, asked if others had core player installed (which i do btw) and a few said they don't have the problem, it could be related to a file assocation breaking things, it's really difficult to trigger and hard to notice when it's gone silent until i softreset

as for htc messaging, i would vote to remove it and let us figure out what cabs to install to get it back, dont bother wasting your time finding us a cab, just perfect wm sms/mms so i dont have to bother disabling htc manila and regedits after a flash each time. the cooked in arcsoft app works great and so does threaded wm messaging once it's setup all right so thats my vote, take out htc till it works fast

If you could program a 'enable/disable' switch for HTC messaging, that would probably be the best solution for everyone. Not sure if that's too much to ask...

You're doing a great job so far btw.

Phone Skins??? Has anyone else noticed that you can't change the skin on the dialer without breaking something else. I tried all the dusk dialers and they seem to break explorer, the same with CMYK, I just tried DomSim last night and though I finally had a winner, but when I switched to my messaging tab it was all black and couldn't be used. I guess these skins use several shared files or something... Has anyone else goten a dialer skin to work without issue on R5?

PLEASEEEE remove it, for a person who uses text messages, it does more harm than good, eye candy's nice but when you sacrifice performance for it..than it isn't worth it at all

I for one will definitly vote in favor of removing it (due to the problems I am having). I just installed SMS chat for now, tired of troubleshooting and reflashing for now.

BTW how do I turn off the haptic feedback on the keyboard. Looking everywhere but cant find it.

The reason no one has answered you as of yet is because your question has been answered more then enough times. It gets frustrating when you come to the forum and go to the last page and post a question that has been answered too many times.

Your profile says you are on Sprint so you need to install the arcsoft cab found in this thread (do a search) and then change the mms settings (also found through search).

Use a registry editor, something like total commander would do. If you're using tcmd, go to plugins - hklm/users - software - HTC - ezsip - change vibration to 0. Should be something along those lines
