Does anyone know of if R3 has the tethering issue with VZW or not? If so, is there a cab I can download to fix this issue? I see that Mighty has released an update.

No no, this is not a hard reset.

This will put your phone in bootloader ( tri color ) screen in order to flash the ROM without using activesync.

BOOTLOADER: Power + Volume Down + Reset

HARD RESET:
Power + Volume Down + Reset + Send Key

totally different :)

Most likely, stay away from tethering until Juicy releases update.

Like i said in my earlier posts in my thread. It's not a serious issue for sprint users, although for myself I took it alittle more high priority since i got the $1,400 bill for tethering.

I don't want other users running around with pitchforks!

I tried messaging Juicy earlier to tell him, but i think he went to bed. In any case, the hotfix will do justice for now until he applies it into his ROM officially :)

Enjoy guys! glad to help.

I have tried to send, and my MMS messages are unable to send.
I sent a MMS from my wifes Sprint phone to my Verizon TP2. I was able to receve the text of the message, but when I tried to download the PIC.. Unsuccessful...

Don't think it's going to work.. Or at least not for me.

Used the below server settings:

Server Name: Verizon Wireless
Gatway: (blank)
Port Number: 80
Server Address: http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms
Connect Via: Verizon Wireless
Send Limit: 1195K
WAP Version: WAP 2.0

I hope someone proves me wrong...

Most verizon users got that webpage that said.... ummmm subscribe to their server or whatever it was.

That's a clear indication that they know ur tethering lol.

so jus for clarity, the mms fix that juicy put into R3: is it just the "hid htc messaging" fixed cooked into the rom, or the shortcut work around with wm for mms and htc for sms, orrrrr is it a 100% htc messaging fix with mms and sms working? i searched and i see ppl talkin about all 3 so i just want to make sure. there was a mms fix valkyrie put out that worked on my sprint tp2 ( i could send mms and sms from htc). but the problem was for a few hrs out of each day neither would work. and i wouldnt know until i get a flurry of txts at one pt from ppl responding as it seems that all the txts i sent accumulated and then sent at a later unknown time all at once.

Neither MMS or SMS is working for Sprint for R3. I tested to send it to myself using ARc Soft, result in retry.

Would try Hard Resetting or re-flashing, cuz SMS should work just fine. I have done multiple tests to myself, my wife etc. And receive works fine as well. Again this is me, but I am on Sprint. MMS on the other hand, using HTC MMS App times out as always, which I expected, it just isn't ready for Sprint. But the JMZ Fix that Juicy put in you go to Albums, select your picture, and tell it to send via Mail and select SMS/MMS. And it sends just fine, but nothing is ever received at the recipient. But I can receive and open just fine any messages sent to me.

I think I know the problem. I'm using SMS Chat and for some reason it wouldn't send w/ SMS Chat. It will send w/ HTC Messaging though. Crap..that means I'm stuck using that crazy lagging text msg thing?!

Nope. I don't sync email addresses before syncing my contacts and Facebook (and I don't sync email with Outlook at all).

Verizon here, SMS confirmed working... haven't tried MMS. Haven't tried tethering either out of fear >_>

Oh, and the SMS sent notification is back :[

Just as an FYI, SMS still works fine here. But wanted to go back on my saying earlier on receiving. BY DEFAULT when I receive an MMS, I get it, it downloads it but I can't get to the message using HTC's MMS Tab. Anyways, I guess when I was testing earlier I had already installed the HTC Disable cab. And was using the WM Messaging. If you install that CAB and then when you get the message, you should be able to tap on the Message TAB and then tap on All Messages and the message should be in there. Sorry was testing too many things at the time heh. Regardless though, sending still isn't functioning. Or should I say it is functioning but just not actually going out. I will look more into that tomorrow at work.

SMS must be sent through HTC Messaging in order for it to work. Other clients such as outlook and SMS Chat doesn't work. Same thing w/ what he said about the MMS

Enough, codybear. Enough.

A few other mods have archived many of your posts and noted every single one where you broke the rules, including bypassing the swear filter, disrespecting other users, and making multiple off topic posts about the same issue. Would you like equal enforcement of the rules? I ask because that would entail infracting you for every single offense you've committed, which would EASILY pass 25 points. You only need 10 to be banned.

Re: [ROM] [15/11/09] Juicy Rhodium_W R3 [SENSE UI] [XDA_UC]

OK. So I finaly got mms to work without removing the new HTC messaging client. Here are the steps. If this helps, feel free to hit the thanks button.
1. download Arcsoft 5 0 94 128c
2. set up the settings for your provider ie sprint is http://mms.sprintpcs.com/servlets/mms connect via sprint
3. open registry editor...go to hklm, SOFTWARE, Arcsoft, Arcsoft MMS UA, Config, mm1, MMSCSetting, SprintMMSC(or whatever you called your default server) and change all 4 wap settings to 5120000. I also did the same for the sample servers.
4. You can now send without a problem.
5. For receiving. Once the message is downloaded, you can view it once the popup comes up saying the message is done downloading under the "view" option. However, to view it again after closing it, go to your e mail tab, tap "inbox" and swipe left or right to get to the windows text messaging tab. The message your received with the attached picture is viewable. Unfortunately, the pic is still not viewable under New HTC messaging app. At least you can view regular sms through the text messaging tab by tapping them instead of going to all messages like before with the "disable cab" Not perfect but a lot better than before. Let me know if the instructions are confusing...it is 340 am :(

Juicy please feel free to add to first page if this is the best method for now or please clarify how the mms issues have been fixed in R3. This thing is amazing in every other sense though. Excellent work as usual!!!.

+1 for sirius not working :(

@ Juicy

ROM is fast for sure.

I noticed no sound for email this morning. Might have been a fluke but i will keep my eye on it. Also, in favorite tab when I select a contact and the the view contact the little icon in the bottom right of the picture is a white square. Not a big deal but just something I noticed.

Thanks Juicy! I am going to rock this for a full day of work and see what it does.

Flashed R3 about 20min ago, first impressions are good, far superior to R2 IMO. TF3d appears to be a lot faster and smoother, all links appear to work including the SMS. Well posts more after I get a good run at the rom

Can somebody elaborate on what is required to use MMS with Verizon in R3??

I am running R2 (I just flashed it yesterday morning when I was bored not realizing a new version was coming out 8 hours later.....). I was running Mighty & everything worked perfectly with that setup but I wanted to try playing with manila 2.5 again (I tried NRG LEO briefly a while back)

I spent probably two hours messing with MMS & finally got it working (both pics & video send/receive just fine as long as I use the old WM app for MMS). The problem is, I tried so many different things from different versions of Arcsoft to multiple regedits/changing the default server/making the SMS account visible under accounts etc etc etc that I honestly don't have a clue what finally got it working & I don't want to go through that nonsense again by flashing to R3.

At this point, I have everything working fine in R2 & unless it is fairly simple to get to this point with R3 I see no reason whatever to flash again.
