And see if that works to you liking. I do a little extra with looking at the registry and all, but start off with that and see if you enjoy.
1st flash r6 and hard reset for a clean install. Then make sure you install the provisioning cab for you carrier.

2nd install the Htc Messaging client included in the original post, soft reset.

3rd Use CeRegEditor, and change the local/system/inbox/externalaccounts/sms to local/system/inbox/externalaccounts/sms.htc.

Thats it! Works like it was cooked it. You can view you mms by clicking on the incoming message and then hit all messages and it will take you the native client, or just hit the email icon. And you can send text messages thru the manila client like before but will the lag or freeze up. I have sent 30 test messages to get this right.

The only issue im having with R6 is that the Youtube app is hit or miss with volume. One second it works, then next no volume. Works thru opera everytime tho? Wierd?

EDIT----YOUTUBE HAS WORKED ALL DAY SINCE, NOT ONCE HAVE HAD A VOLUME PROBLEM SINCE THIS POST.

i am wondering this too. when disabling htc messaging in a previous rom, the wm messaging wouldnt show in threaded mode... i'd be fine with disabled htcmessaging but i cannot do without threaded messaging. someone who's flashed to r6 please let us know.

Yes out the box sms work. and messages are threaded thru the native messaging program, with no tweaks whatsoever.

does this method still allow you to send mms via the native client, while sending sms via htc messaging?

and 2nd question folks...

is there anything that i need to do to get the youtube app working. starting the app gets me the usual playlist of videos...but i can't play ANY of them. hmm...

btw, i'm on r6, verizon.

Re: [ROM] [12/09/09] Juicy Rhodium_W R6 (21884) [SENSE UI] [XDA_UC]

Just wanted to say Hi and Thanks! Got my phone about 3 weeks ago. Decided it was time to unlock and flash it, so I decided to give the Juicy Rom a go first. Absolutely love it.

One issue I have (which is minor) is the weather. I live in Cary, NC but it shows up as Edgehill Farms which is a planned community down the road from me. Also would like to add a city I used to live in, but it doesn't come up on the list. I know with the stock rom I downloaded an updated conflipper weather cab which solved my issues, but wasn't sure if there was something available for this version of Manilla.

Another is being able to play music and putting it in hibernate. I saw a cab for it but it doesn't work for R6.

Apparently I prefer the HTC messaging. Didn't realize it until I tried to send a pic the "normal" way (by normal I mean the way I did it in stock). Also when I would get a text, I could click the text to go to that text in threaded mode to respond. Now it just does nothing. Have to hit all texts at the bottom and then select the thread.

Extremely minor one, and I hadn't checked the thread yet to see if it was mentioned, but if I go to a contact that I have their facebook linked and say "view online album", they won't load. Just come up as x's.

Anyways, thanks again for a great Rom! Looking forward to what's in store for R7.

I'm on R6 and verizon, and the youtube app works fine. Just played the first video that popped up about 15 seconds ago.

i ran the sprint provisioning then did a hard reset and immediately installed the sprint PRL update cab and had no luck getting my data to work. i also tried the same sequence without provisiong with little luck. i flashed to stock and Energy, and it worked fine. this is the only ROM that won't allow my internet to work.

i forgot to add that i was having the same trouble with my wife's phone as well.

just as a stupid question as I had the same problem with this rom, but I found out what my problem was....in the settings did you have the data switch on or off? I could take phone calls and get voice mails and such, but couldnt connect to the internet, and then I found that data switch and it was off as default.
