Yup just google advanced config. Be sure not to use any other features on that app UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING!!!! AGAIN I SAY UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING!!! Okay so once you install the app. Run it. It will prompt you that you are using at your own risk. Just hit ok. Now you have all the options to use the app. Scroll down until you see splash and tap it. It will drop down some options. One of them is splash screen. Tap it and it will give you the option to set as default or browse. Just hit browse. Browse to the splash screen you want and tap it. You will now see that file location of the splash screen has changed. Hit done and it will ask you to soft reset. Hit yes. Thats it. Splash screen changed.

Edit: If you mess around with this app and mess something up. Do not restore all settings to default. This app was made for GSM phones, but will work on CDMA's. Most of the tweaks will work. It wont brick your phone but you will have to hard reset if you make a mistake. Most of the tweaks have info so you have a general idea what you are about to change or tweak. Has a lot of options. Very useful tool if used properly. I do not know any other way to change the splash and startup gif other than this.

This is the only rom i've tried that kinda startled me.. twice! First the bootup shark, then i got a txt message and r2d2 started playing, i was like wtf is going on here. :toothy10: LOL

It's looking to be my everyday rom tho, its very nice. :headbang:

And I only really be on it when I'm not around my OLD-LADY (hope she don't read this, hehe) But I thought that it might be a text or email... have you disabled TouchResponse and disabled TouchFlo and unchecked vibrate on call connect in phone settings? If not, try that and let me know...

Nope!! If you are talking about when it 1st starts up and you see "TOUCH PRO 2". The boot img has to be flashed onto the phone just like you would flash a rom. If you search around you can find a few of them. It is a .nb file.

Having so much trouble downloading this file. Restricted at work, and when i got home last night and d/l both CHT and ST roms. get unsupported 7z file when trying to extract :( &$&*^&*%$*(&&$* *(%$

What you're talking about is commonly referred to as a splash screen. You can make them yourself easily with Gimp or Photoshop. Check out this little tutorial I gave on implenting your own splash screen here:

Read about a page before that and a few posts after that to understand it all. Just remember that flashing back to stock will not restore the stock splash screen. So I'd do a search for your stock splash screen before you endeavor to change it.

thats so odd. no one else seems to be having trouble. I'd be more than happy to upload a ROM to Mediafire or 4Shared if you like. Just let me know which Rom and which site you think will work best for you. I'm at work though and wont be able to start the upload till 1030 or so when I get home. Its at least an hour upload time for any site. Let me know...

After i ran task29, i began getting the black "touch pro2" splash rather than the HTC / white background, but when i flashed back to the stock rom from HTC's site the other day, the stock boot screen was back. Its gone again since i task29'ed again. the black splash is easier on the eyes lol.

Thank you! I was trying to figure this one out too. It was indeed the settings in touch responce, i checked disable viberate in a call, seems good.

Now im still playing with 2 of your roms, the CHT Sprint one with nav and tv, and the CHT All Carriers, Can't decide if i want the Sprint "stuff" or not. decisions decisions :D (is that the only difference? one has sprint stuff, the other doesnt?)

I hope to someday use my phone to make calls and txt. It's my first smart phone and i've had it for less than a week and have been playing with it instead of using it as a phone. Its more like a mini laptop, um or shall i say a pocket pc :laughing6: My how far we have come in phones.. My first cell could hardly even make calls and it was the size of a brick. lol

Sounds like you don't have WINRAR loaded on your PC, or your have a virus protect that's not allowing it to load.

I just tried to download the multi carrier roms and it wouldnt let me save them. I had to click open instead of save and then I extracted it to a different folder. Anyone having probs downloading try that. It worked for me. Im flashing it right now.

Y'all no that it can be DL as a cab. and set as then you can set it as a default just go to oper.com
If I knew how to load a cab I would post it for you.

Just curious, but how come? I really only have used both for a short time (less than a week) And the Opera 10 to me looks alot better. Does 10 have more bugs than 9.7? Or is it just a preference? Either or, both are still faster than IE, in my opinion :thumbright:

So I went to the downloads site and tried to download them all and they all started fine with no problems. Does the error or whatever happen after or during the download? I did notice that the download numbers have changed though. They've gone down. Not sure what's up with that. Maybe something was going on with the server...

Yeah, so I've fully downloaded it, and extracted it with no problems. Let me know if any of you are still having problems...
Use the "Go Advanced" button below the post. Click the paperclip above the input field. Choose browse. Find your .cab, hit Ok. Then hit upload. Viola! You're done!

Opera 10 seems to not want to load pages sometimes so I have to click the link 3 or 4 time. Also I think 9.7 is faster. I just have less problems with 9.7.

I think its is just the opera version that came out of a sprint rom. It is one of the newer builds and seems pretty snappy.

Oh, and you're all making strong arguments for Opera 9.7. I'm gonna play with it for a day or two and decide which one to keep. As it stands now, I'm leaning to changing to 9.7, but it's been a while since I've used it and just want to re-familiarize myself with it before I make an official decision on the matter.

You will probably want this one to it gives you 6 tabs instead of the default 3. oh and this is my little favorites back up secret. before you flash to another rom copy the favorites file in windows folder to your storage card. then after you flash use Total Commander and copy it back into windows and your done.

Sharkie, I flashed your CHT MULTI CARRIER rom last night and so far Ive only got 2 issues.

1. The carrier provisioning didnt auto run on first boot. I had to run it manually witch wasnt realy that big of a deal but this bring me to the next issue.

2. The XDA_UC did start up on first boot. I always have my my verizon MMS cabs and others that need to be installed after the carrier provisioning. So I had to ignore XDA_UC and do the carrier provision then soft reset and then start xda_uc manually.

Other then that minor hickup at first boot the rom has been pretty smooth. I realy like your them for the shutxp. Rom looks good bro keep it going.

For some reason I cant download the Sprint cht rom. I tried using Firefox and Internet explorer and only downloads 51 mb. Anybody else or is it just me?

This was my orig issue.. I d/l 2x both CHT and ST and file was approx60mb.. I got home from work last night at 2am and wham 197mb or so.. and its been "smooth" sailing ever since. :D

I'm downloading it now via firefox and everything is fine...

I've sent an email to VBN to see if he knows what's going on with the hosting site an people having issues downloading. I also asked him why it only shows each download as only having been downloaded once. I think I will upload them to another site as well for the time being, just in case there are any more problems with this one.

@ mcluvntheboss, you are not the first who's suggested that I set XDA UC to NOT autorun. I will set up the next ROMs like this. Because it's my ROM and has all that I use, I only install Swype and my Contacts via XDA UC. I didn't think about things like carrier specific cabs needing to be installed after carrier provisioning.

Between the speed / new dialer skin / new wallpapers / and ringtones ... I just " jizz'd in my pants " IMO top ROM on this thread. Glad you returned and replaced the top chefs who have jumped ship. I cant believe you got 2016 to fly this fast. I cant imagine what you could do with 2017 , the RSS feature in 2017 is hot !!! I wonder whats new in 2018 though. "I Love my phone" still !!

@ EVERYONE,

I just got a response from VBN about the server issues. Here's what he said:

"The server has been under DDOS attack for a week now. Its been discussed on my xda thread. Server is being moved to new DC in few days. The problems should subside then.

We had to restart the server application forcefully which must have caused the count issue."

In lieu of this, I will upload them all to MediaFire again today. I will update the 1st post to reflect the possibility of problems and put up a separate MediaFire link as a second download option until VBNFiles moves their server over and things are OK again.

@SHARKIE I just found an issue with the twitter tab. I logged in and it loaded all my tweets and everything but when I click on a tweet to reply to someone it goes to the all tweets screen but nothing is there. Also it doesnt let me go back it just stays at that screen. I had to hit the end key (hardware key) to bring me back to the home tab. Twice I had to soft reset because it completely froze sense.

About the XDA_UC I think it would be a good idea. I would rather start it up manualy. I only keep three or four cabs in that folder but the option to run it when ever you want to is nice.

That KD FONTS app is the shiz. I like changing the fonts but font cabs never realy work. This app works perfict and the UI makes it so easy. Ive changed fonts 4 times already today.

This was an issue I have fixed in the latest released. You are on v1.1 I assume, right? Check your device info. just to be certain. I've just tried it and everything works fine for me.

That is the same ROM I've been on since yesterday. This makes absolutely no sense at all. That problem should not exist in the new ROM. I'm going to download it now from the site and flash and I'll get back to you...
