i just upgraded to the Sprint 1.3 ROM. +rep. i do however have 2 issues. 1) when playing a movie and i stop it to exit the screen shuts off and won't resume until i reset. 2) the screen doesn't shut off when I'm in a call causing my face to hit buttons or end the call. any fixes?

I don't have any ideas on the movie thing off of the top of my head. What program are you using to play movies?

Out of the box the phone screen shut's off when you're on a call and you put the phone up to your face. You must have changed a setting somewhere, but again, off of the tope of my head, I can't remember which one exactly.

I'll look into the 2nd issue today when I have time and see if I can remember where that setting is, and when you get back to me on what program it is your using to play movies, I'll look into that too.

So I've been working on those links as I mentioned before and was having stupid issues with the Facebook Tab link. So I dont' have to type it all out again, here a link to my first post about it over at XDA so you know what's going on. Read the next few post after the link post as well:

I know this works on my ROM after having adjusted my Tab Control File, but because of the tab control file issue, I'm hoping any of you that are currently on my ROM or another ROM would be willing to test it out. The worst that would happen is that you would lose your MS Facebook App link and have to manually go into your \Windows folder and set it up again yourself, or hard reset, whichever you find easier.

If you're not willing to risk either of those, then DON'T try it.

If you are and can let me know what ROM you tried it on and whether or not it worked, Thank you

the rom is great besides those 2 issues i am having... i am going to try and re flash it to see if maybe something went wrong. i am opening the movie files from explorer, so i guess it opens with htc media player...i havent tried opening it from windows media. youtube works and the screen does not shut off. also, when i do play it and i plug in the tv out cable it works, but upon disconnection from tv out it also blanks out the screen, but if i plug the tv out cable again it turns on for a a few seconds and off again. during that time if i open task manager and kill the album app, the phone resets by itself... like i said, im going to reflash to see if it still gives me the same issue.

Do you Task29? If not, you should. It's a ROM saver!

yes on task29... the screen does shut off now on a call, but opening a movie through album still shuts off the screen when stopped. u can click on the screen and the touch response vibrates. i have to press end and the screen comes back up again. at which time i have to use task manager to kill the album program...but it didnt reset the phone this time.

Hi Sharkie,

I'd like to mention something that may have been brought up before, so forgive me if you guys have already discussed it.

In your 6.5 ROM, the Photos tab and Music tab don't rotate to landscape when the phone is rotated. I know it's eye candy, but it's nice eye candy. I'm aware it took a while for Sense 2.5 to get this feature running, but it does work and looks very cool. Did you disable this? (Yeah, if you can't tell, I'm one of those guys that still uses the Sense Music tab, since Pocket Player still hasn't been updated for Sense 2.5.)

Maybe this is what your Screen Rotate button is about? (I haven't tried it yet.)

To my knowledge Sense is not set to rotate when you rotate the phone. I used to have it set that way, but it became a pain in the ass.

I was not aware of a mod to allow for only those two tabs to rotate, if that's what you mean. I'll look into it.

The Rotate Screen app will work to rotate the screen however, no matter what's on the screen. With Flip_It you can set ALL of Sense to rotate to certain angles with the phone. Either one of those will work for your immediate needs. I will look into this though. It sounds like it'd be cool to have those two tabs auto rotate.
