Peep's never been terribly useful to me. I usually prefer Azurea. Its got some broken English, but it's featureful and fast and doesn't eat battery as heavily as Peep does with the same refresh settings.

BTW, Azurea 1.2.1 breaks loading URLs for me, somewhat. If you see that too, try tracking down 1.2.0. :)

just downloaded and installed. So far so good. I have chosen to remove Sense from the today screen and just added Easy Today Launcher. I love it so far and will abuse it soon and leave feedback :)

one minor thing, I try to sort my text messages by time but it's out of order. Anyone else having this issue?

so i realize now that my texts out of order are from the SMS 2016 bug i.e. incoming texts are stamped with a 2016 date. I went through the 'official fix' thread and noted that there are different files you need depending on which ROM you have etc... Does anyone have a cab that fixes this issue specifically in this ROM and could you please post it if you do? (as opposed to just a general link to a thread with lots of cabs :) )

I did find the attached zip file which contains an .exe file that you copy directly to your phone and run from your phone. This at least fixes existing message timestamps.

The instructions were very clear and good.

Question:

Is there any way to save this ROM?

Or do u have to create it from scratch and immediatly load it every time.?

I think the kitchen has a dump nhb feature, but I've never tried before.

The program appears to save the nhb in a folder titled "RELEASE_Rhodium"

That's been annoying me also. And what's more, I set the ringer for "Vibrate then Ring",and do a soft reset,it turned to be "Ring" only,or when I use the end key to set vibrate,after I pressed the end key again,it turned to be "Ring" only also.

I have come back to this rom yet again because you just can't beat it's speed, power consumption and stability....

But I have run into an issue I have never seen before. After a day or so of using the phone on a fresh flash, it locks up, and after a soft reset, it acts like you just hard reset it...except when the home screen finally loads, there is an error on the screen:

and you can't close the window at all. This has happened to me 3 times now this past week. I have tried building new roms each time. The only thing I am running differently now than in the past is Mobile Shell. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this, or how to prevent it?

In case anyone was wondering, I re-extracted kitchen and tried again. It's been running solid for 2 days...maybe my antivirus messed with the previous kitchen?

I spoke too soon. Last night I tried loading the Youtube app, and it hang. Upon reboot, it went through first time configuration. I was able to restore a backup and be back to normal in about 15 minutes, but I have never had a phone act like this before. The only real difference now from the past year or so is the addition of SPB Mobile Shell, but I haven't heard any complaints from anyone else running it. Could I just have a bad phone?

I broke down and took my phone into the store. The "updated" it and it's been working ok since. I don't know what happened, but I hope it doesn't happen again.


On a different note - anyone figured out the ringer vibrate reboot issue? It also seems to reset the ringer script in the registry, since I added a couple seconds to the vibrate script and it gets reset on reboot as well.

So, I downloaded both the kitchen and the provided image. I get to the point of the "Updating the ROM image on your PDA phone", with the progress bar on both the update program AND on my phone. The one on the phone came after the multi-colored screen.
My TP2 is STOCK. As in TOTALLY stock, never touched, patched, hacked, etc. I do not have the Sprint SIM card in it. I took it out to run Android. That was neat, but I don't do that any longer. However, I have NOT put the SIM card back in.
My PC is Windows XP. I disabled the virus scanner, THEN extracted the kitchen. I chose a few things, disabled a few, then hit Create ROM. After this, my PC sat for a while with lots of "progress" (text flying across the screen as it did ... stuff). After a while, another program...a small rectangular box popped up (phone programmer).
The FIRST time I got to this point, XP asked me if I wanted to accept an unsigned driver. It was something like "HTC USB". I clicked Continue Anyway. After this, IMMEDIATLY the program stated that it could NOT connect to the phone. I said OK as the driver was apparently not installed. So, I exited the kitchen and tried the "pre-made" ROM. This I ran "ROMUPDATEUTILITY.exe", which popped up the same little rectangular box. Went through all the steps. This time, my phone went multicolored. After 10 seconds, it went all grey with a progress bar at 0%. My desktop did the same. It sat there at 0% for a while. Nothing happened. Eventually it failed out and gave me recovery steps (thank you to whomever wrote those in!!).
So, I decided to try the kitchen again. This time, I was able to get to the sameplace as the pre-made ROM. Got to the progress bars. I tried a few times, I get stuck there without fail (or with Fail??).
The only thing I can think of, is I missed some documentation somewhere that stated I needed to unlock something, or not having my Sprint provided SIM card is making the ROM update fail.
I'm thinking it's more I didn't unlock something (it seems most people in the thread here have had other ROMS, so maybe they are already unlocked??). Is there any tips that anyone can give me? Is there some kind of unlocker that I needed to use? I've only updated one other phone...and it was using a Carrier provided ROM...so I am not sure if I am missing a step.

I went from having 49MB of flash and 14-40MB of ram to having 173MB Flash and 84MB of ram...and that was AFTER installing 2x more programs than I had installed with the "stock" Sprint ROM!

REALLY AWESOME! My phone is running like it's overclocked to 800MHz!!! That is without ANY overclocking!! It scrolls smoother, seems to run faster, and everything is just so nice-nice!!!

The only thing I am having trouble with is, I typically overwrote the phoneon.wav file in the \Windows directory with a file of the same name, size 0 (nothing in it). I tried to replace it this time. However, my rom had the name PhoneOn.wav, not PHONEON.wav (stock name). So, now in \Windows I have BOTH files. Without having to redo the ROM, is there a way to overwrite the file? Or just STOP the sound when the radio is turned on (during boot).

I would rename the file to something like phoneon.wav.xxx. Im sure that will do the trick. Let me know if not.

In FileExplore, it will let me "try" to rename the file of size 0, but: "Files Located in ROM cannot be renamed". When I try to rename the "real" file, it does not give me that option.

In Total Commander, It doesn't fail, but doesn't do anything.

Strange, I opened the "real" file for editing in a Total Commander's text editor. After I opened it, I just typed a bunch of nonsense. Closed and saved. Now the file won't play in media player, nor make noise when I turn the radio back on. Strange...just noticed, the files of size "0" disappeared.

Hopefully this won't cause a memory leak or something like that.

No, that wont cause a memory leak. You basicallyk just made the file unreadable buy the OS. You will be fine.

I reset my phone, sound played and now I have two files of size 17K (PHONEON.wav and PhonOn.wav).

That exact post didn't help, but elsewhere in that thread was the answer! Someone posted the registry entry for Windows playing that sound!

anyway to use this kitchen to build a 6.5/6.5.x ROM and possibly to remove sense from the ROM? Or is there another visual kitchen like this that I can do that already?

I love this ROM, but there is one thing that i dont regarding Text replying.

When you reply, you can only see one line at a time. Is there a way to fix that so you see 2 or even 3 lines of replied text messaging in the box?

dont know if this rom is still being worked on

but i downloaded the kitchen, and using the saved file that comes with it, when I created the rom, it seems to be smaller than the one linked, and also seems to be missing files like I cant open contacts since it crashes and does back to today screen.

noticed a few others but contacts is biggest for me since I use my phone as a phone so I need contacts :D

I tried looking for the answer in this thread, but I couldn't find it amidst the 36 pages...

I flashed my TP2 to this ROM and it's great so far with one problem. When I receive a text, it says that the text is from the year 2017...is there a fix for this?
