Its amazing how much time I put into flashing so many different roms, with so many different types of features, only to wind up sticking with the basics. I appreciate all the works donw by everyone here though....and a great job once again done by you Scott

Thanks!

Thanks I will try this rom as I am looking for the most clean basic 6.1 rom I can find.
I have to use 6.1 as the Smail & SMS mail here in Japan will not work on WM 6.5 yet. My carrier is Softbank.

is it possible to use your kitchen and add the latest version of sense (2.5 vs 2.1)?

Possible, yes, although I have had no success at it. Too many packages need to be updated therefore it wouldnt be the same kitchen. The point of this kitchen was to keep it somewhat simple.

Dear Scrosler, Thank you for your work. I tried yourSprint Basics 1.4
I am looking for a very cut down version of WM6.1 for my Sprint TP2. I live in Japan & I don`t need any of the aps. for the States. I can install all I need from cabs. I tried yours but since then it gets quite hot & to battery dies very fast.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi Scott,

Someone suggested me to give a try to your ROM, I didn t know about your job (too many Roms around), but reading this is really intriguing me and I am downloading your ROM and your Kitchen. However I am not a Chef :)

My point is:

I am only looking for very good memory management with a decent GUI. I am using another ROM (I will not say the name for respect to your job) and I am very happy with. it is a 6.5 and unfortunately using its Sense 2.5, memory levitates above 73% in idle and I consider that unacceptable.

Switching to Titanium it is excellent, it boots at 48% and goes up around 58% and usually stays there, making a multitasking experience veryy nice. But i m stuck on the low interaction with Titanium.

So,

Before testing your ROM, with the hassle to reiinstalll and re configure all of my crap, would you be so kind to let me know how is the memory managemnt here?

I would rreally appreciate it, thanks.

Sorry about your battery. I am not sure why it would die very fast. Everyone else including myself gets decent battery life. Try cooking your own ROM in the kitchen and exclude NueBattery. Thats my only suggestion.

The memory on my ROM is great. I can quote you a specific number right now because the device is broken and I am waiting on sprint to replace it ;c(

I will atest that you will be happy with the memory on my ROM. It uses sense 2.1 and not sense 2.5.

Thanks

Hi Scott,

I got fed up with Sprints stock 6.5 after having to hard reset my phone so many times and I came across your rom. Just 1 question, how do I turn off the weather animation on the home screen?

Everything else is perfect! Thanks for everything!!

Sorry, one last question... How do I make the soft key bar background darker to match your home screen wallpaper?

I have a few questions before I flash this 1: what sms fix is used in this ROM? the fake device time fix or the real rilphone actual time fix?
2:how's the Facebook integration in sense 2.1?
3: does the touch keyboard include spanish xt9? (its a pain tryin to text in spanish with it set to english)
4: how much RAM is available at boot?

all of these are big factors that I look for in flashing a ROM

Try with a fresh kitchen and then add them in one by one. I know the kitchen is fine with all the EXT's that are in there.

well its a good rom and that's the only issue I had. that and the fact that sense 2.5that I installed from this cab would keep crashing when I try to login to facebook(unacceptable) so I had to hard reset and start again.

Glad you enjoy. I plan on fixing that messaging issue but never have the time. I am also porting it over to a differnt kitchen base called "OSKitchen Zero" that I found on XDA.

Re: 6-19 [ROM / Kitchen] - 'Sprint Basics 1.4' Visual Kitchen - WM 6.1 Only

Dear Guys,
Thank you for all you do to make our phones & therefor lives better!!
I am in desperate need of a clean WM6.1 for my TP2 CDMA. I have tried so many of these roms here. But each WM6.1 has many problems, like when I try to enable wifi it takes 8 min. to finally just turn itself on. Connecting is not a problem. Speed is so slow that it take 3 min. to install the 200kb PMI back up program. It`s like the cpu is turned downor something. I had no problems with my Touch HD, & TouchPro.
The reason I need WM6.1 is that I am in Japan, & I am using Softbank (my carrier). I have some smail/sms software from XDA`s web site that enables me to get all the mail capabilities that Softbank uses here. It will not work on WM6.5. Although WM6.5 for this phone works great in every other aspect. I just can`t do my Softbank mail.
Thanks!

I think that is a problem with Sense 2.1 and the messaging app. Not sure on a fix for that.

If it wont bother you, I need the .nbh file, so i can instal from my sd card. Btw, what's the different between ROM and kitchen? Thank you.

Never mind, the .nbh file is in the compressed file. Thank you very much for creating this great basic 6.1 ROM. To me, this is the best ROM so far. I got 102 MB program memory remaining on a fresh install, huge enough for multitasking.

I wont be adding the twitter tab. I am trying to keep this ROM as basic as possible so I am leaving all the tabs the way they come from the stock HTC ROMS I ripped them from.
