1 OF 2 BEST TP2 ROMS ..PERIOD....ALL SHOULD FLASH ASAP !!!!!

NOTHING compares to the speed and stability of this ROM. Just dress it up as you like and Forget about Manila 2.5 / 6.5 .. 6/1 is the most Stable/Fastest OS for the TP2. Unless you have the HD2 (my brother's is blazing fast), using Manila 2.5, you will never get a ROM to be as Stable/Fast as this. The only alternative is Silence's/Pimpols SuperROM using WM6.5 . Cant think of anything that Manila 2.5 Has that I can't rock on this ROM at light speed..

Twitter ? === Twikini.cab
Animated Weather ? === got It
Cookie? === Not Necessary, but nice if you want widgets !
Upcoming appts === S2U2 with appts opt
Quick Launch APPs === Program Tab

Speed and Stability === 'Sprint Basics 1.4' WM6.1 or SuperROM WM6.5

My ONLY ? right now is how do you remove the locked program icons from Tab ?? Taking up space !!!! Everything else is SMOOTH SAILING , until the next breakthrough in TP2 Rom development ie . manila 2.2 or 3.0 with faster core lol

TP2 is still alive .......for now !

In the sprint manilla home screen on the internet tab, whenever I click Launch Browser nothing opens. The webpage shortcuts dont work also. Also is there a way to get rid of the 'sprint music store' logo/link at the top in the music tab? WM 6.1 is the best

I think thats becasue we are using Opera 10. They should work fine with Opera 9.5. Not sure how to change that.

I'll work on the locked icons for the next version. For now you can look here : http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=91843. You can also try a cab version here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...22&postcount=5

Thanks for the feedback.

No, you would need to manually apply any ICS fix. I will consider adding the fix in on the next revision.

Thanks!

Go to email to tab. Select Menu softkey then accounts and New Accounts. Is that what you are talking about?

Hey there, I've downloaded your kitchen and when i go to run the .BAT file named "Basics 1.4" it says i need administrator privileges. I run as admin, and it doesn't open your program instead it flashes text in the command window and does nothing. When i run the program with out privileges, it tells me that its starting the program and then errors out telling me that i need permissions. i am using windows 7 x32. i really want to experiment with your kitchen if you could lend a hand with this issue. i will give you more info if you need it, thank you in advance.

Sounds like you may need to turn off User Account Control. You should be able to google "diasable UAC Win7" and get some hits. I would post now but am at work ;c(

UAC in Windows 7 ...... goto control panel... users.... your account ....UAC is listed in the list where you change pic pass etc... usually the bottom selection

also... right click on .bat file... goto properties.... check box "run as administrator" that way all the tools called by the batch file with run under that mode aswell

so i made the rom, installed nicely, but when i go to my location settings it get an error "AGPSSettings" cannot be opened . either it is not signed with a trusted cerificate, or one of its components cannot be found. if the problm persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.

I remember reading in a previous post a solution that you did.. but my computer is chuggin along is there anyway you could find the answer?

Dont worry about it. It has no affect. For some reason the app wont launch. Never found a fix for it. GPS works just fine though.

May try a couple things on the next build to get it working. Not sure why it doesnt.

Dont forget to do the QuickGPS program. That will download the sats for you and get google going.

Okay, so I've been cooking up different flavors of your ROM using the kitchen and I found something weird happening (maybe a bug?). Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't "Enlarge Start Menu 1.2" suppose to increase the menu size when your not using sense? I use sense so I decided to remove it and well the start menu was different as shown below:

With Enlarge Start Menu 1.2
http://img257.imageshack.us/i/screen002y.png/

Without Enlarge Start Menu 1.2
http://img193.imageshack.us/i/screen004f.png/

Does the Enlarge Start Menu cooked into this ROM different from the one floating around the internet because it seems to function differently.

Also what does the EnableManilaStartMenu.cab in the second post do?

Is there a way to remove the locked icons as shown below
http://img198.imageshack.us/i/screen003c.png/

Lastly, every time i try to link my contacts to their Facebook profiles sense crashes and restarts. Any fix for this?

I don't know how to attach images so I put the links

Thanks,
Lunus

I can't agree more. When I got the TP2, I decided to try a bunch of different 6.5 roms, with CHT and such. But it all came down to them being super slow, resource hogs, and battery drains. I love the simplicity of this rom with iPhoneToday on top of it.

Here's an interesting little thing that's been annoying me lately - I set the ringer for "Vibrate then Ring", which works, until I change the volume at all via the volume rocker switch. I don't set it to "silent", just raise or lower the volume a little. After that, it's set to "Ring" only, and I have to go back into the control panel to change it again.

Plus, the vibrate is a bit weak and I barely notice it sometimes.

Hi scott, I have been playing with your rom and am ready to cook my own little variation but I get the following error:

Executing: kitchen_build_rom.bat.....
ERROR! (errorlevel: 1)

ERROR executing: kitchen_build_rom.bat

ERROR!!!
Wait some seconds...

No ''SVN'' folders present...

Restored Original config.txt...
Temp config.txt Deleted!!!

You helped a fellow geeker around post 15 of this thread, but the file you had uploaded is no longer there. Any help is appreciated.

Also I have been unable to get the zoom slider below the screen to work, is there something I am missing to get this working? i tested and it works with other roms...

TIA and keep up the great work

Been using this rom for about a month ..... battery life is outstanding and lasts forever. Its amazing how much time I put into flashing so many different roms, with so many different types of features, only to wind up sticking with the basics. I appreciate all the works donw by everyone here though....and a great job once again done by you Scott
