yep, good to know. But the main link has since been updated to a release on Feb 6th. The test release was from late January. I have no issues with the latest release.

Scott, only thing I am noticing since using this rom is data seems slower for me. Getting 600kbs at work today, normally get twice that. Not sure if its just my area the last couple days. Used adv config and noticed the 2nd tcp setting was set to 0.
Changed both tcp setting to 10 using Hdtweak and IE connections to 16, so will see if that makes a difference. I think stock tcp setting are 3 for both and IE connections are 4. Will keep testing. Like I said, it could just be my area. Thanks!

edit: changed a couple settings and its seems much quicker. test came in over 1mb twice now! will see if how it responds today.

Scrosler, Did you add any reg hacks (no push internet, battery mods, etc)? Your changelog did not show this info. I'm downloading the ROM 1.2 version now and I don't want to add any tweaks that you may have already added. Thanks.

No battery reg hacks.
Did add No push internet and resource proxy. Thats about it.

Problem with exchange email. I'm using gmail with exchange settings.

My phone is not pulling down new messeges right away. I have it set to pull "as it arrives" and to include while in roaming areas but there is about 30min to 1hr delay. I've flashed to stock then back to this and hardreset.... no fix.

even if i manually send/receive it isn't pulling down the latest emails. but after 30minutes or so it will.

Make sure you hard reset the phone after flash and flash the sprint stock rom first. What are doing when it freezes? I have yet to have this freeze on me after 5 days of use with no soft resets.

I haven't had any freezes. Now to the issue with the exchange email. I think the problem was coming from the host (m.google.com) The speed appears to have been corrected. I'll post again tomorrow to let you know.

How do I get Opera to sync with my favorites from IE? When I use most custom ROMs my favorites sync with Opera automatically.

Overall, great ROM. Thanks for this.

A couple of issues:

Battery drain is faster than stock.

Also, when it charges, back heats up TREMENDOUSLY; I think it has the cycling in and out of charging mode issue as it approaches 100%.

Not as snappy as stock; still trying to run down why (I haven't installed too many CABs yet). Stay posted.

That's about it for now; will update as I learn more.

couple minor things to report Scott. Scrolling in the program menu is a little choppy seems to bounce a little. Occassionally the email tab will pop up without being tapped if I'm in another program. Also noticed that email notifications sometimes don't work. meaning if you have notification sound enabled, occasionally they will not chime but that's it. Just wanted to let you know.

Now if I can convince you to put out a sprint basic 6.5/6.5.x sense 2.1 kitchen. I would be......well happy as heck :) :) LOL.

Whats not snappy in your opinion?

as far as the heating up, can you open NueBattery, and disable the fast charge and then charge the phone next time around and tell me if you see a difference? I didint notice anything.

Prolly not going to happen. Well, if sprint drops an official 6.5 ROM I will do it but otherwise it will not happen. This is "Sprint Basics" and I mean basics ;c)

Scott - so far this is the best ROM i have used. I tried Energy, Mighty, Neodium and a couple others. IMO the battery life sucks on all PDA devices if your using exchange with activsync constantly connecting.

I started with teh 6600, 6700, Mogul, TP and now TP2. All of these devices failed to last me even a full day without charging. So im used to bad battery life.

I like the 6.1 interface. Much easier to use. I use mine for hard core business. Not really anything else. I have over 2K contacts in mine and get over 50-100 emails per day and do alot of muli-tasking. So far everything has been working great.

I personally dont like the Sense Interface so i disable and put on a bunch of SPB cabs. All the other ROM i tried had issues with all the plugin that i had, but this one runs smooth.

Kudos to you!!

Thanks for your help with the corrupt file. Still working good!!!

Hi Scott.

I am using your rom. I have one issue to report. There is problem with Volume. I am not sure if other people experienced the same issue. Since I like you rom I thought I will let you know, So that you can fix in the next release.

Thanks,

I did notice on mine, that the volume works, but sometimes when i'm connected to my BT, the volume is set to ring and on the loudest setting, but it only rings through to my BT headset and not the phone ringer. I tried looking at the settings, but everything seems to be in place.

Is that the same problem? Any sight anyone?

I'll have to yield this question to other users. I dont use a bluetooth headset. Too much technology for me ;c)

Ok, I tested battery and got 48 hours from it. Mostly talk and text. Couple web pages but not much. I also think that S2U2 puts a small strain on the battery.

Next Revision... I will drop S2U2 NueBattery from the ROM

Looks like it was the NueBattery addition that was causing the battery issue (and heat as well). Weird, too, cuz I could get 48 hour battery life with Freeza ROM (which has NueBattery built-in).

But, I love the NO FRILLS aspect of your ROM (only 58MB used on phone).

Any ideas on best settings to use to create BARE MINIMUM ROM (i.e., ROM only, with rest to be added via CAB)? I have some ideas, but always up to hear more suggestions.

Thanks again for a great ROM.

Looks like the "safe tethering" protections are not built into this ROM. May want to add that feature.

Also, cannot tell from the kitchen whether the File Explorer add-ons/extensions are built in. Are they?

Great ROM, though. Just needs a little tweaking. :)

Thanks for the feedback. If you wish to create a bare ROM simply deselect what you dont want in the kitchen. Leave the core packages as they are needed for operation but pretty much anything else can go.

Guys can some1 tell me, who's running this rom, how much memory it uses?
When i got my phone, out of the box it was running 65%-70% on startup.
After GoodThings2Life "cleanUp" cab, i get 40-42% on start up.

Thanx.

Its running in the mid 40's on average. Highest I've seen is round 50%. Very fast and stable. I used the kitchen to cook one up but I'm sure the rom is very similiar. Hope this helps.

Re: 2-25 [ROM / Kitchen] - 'Sprint Basics 1.2' Visual Kitchen - WM 6.1 Only

Many, many thanks for posting this Kitchen. 6.1 with Sense 2.1 is the perfect combo IMHO. I've now made my own (sort of I guess) ROM for the first time. Next I'm working on converting some of my favourite CABS into packages for inclusion in the Kitchen :D

One question: do you know which package controls the hands-free activation that the phone tries to do after a soft-reset? Any ideas? I use my Sprint TP2 on Vodafone's GSM network so I don't think it's ever going work for me and I'd like remove it from the ROM.

Again, many thanks, not just for the ROM but for being willing to post the Kitchen too :headbang:
