Thre was a small bug that I had to fix for Pic mail. Its 1000K now in version 1.2. You should upgrade. I just put it up about an hour or so ago. Check it out. Sorry for the bug ;c(

No, I made the latest version 20 megs and its not slow. BUT if you want to go to 24, which is nice, I included the page pool changer with the ROM. You can change the page pool before you flash. Its in the folder and is called of course Page Pool Changer.... Let me know if you need more info on how to do it but its very straight forward. Load NBH file into Page Pool changer, change page pool, save changes. Flash.

-Scott

Ahh, thought yours was an .exe like a Stock ROM would be. I see the Page pooler, will go with 24 and see if I can keep performance smooth. Thanks.

If your stuck just flash stock ROM for now. I will download and flash ROM when I get home. It could have got corrupt when I uploaded it. Sorry about that.

Anyone else have any issues with 1.2 and flashing it?

Should be sometime tonight for sure. I need to see why it was corrput. It worked perfect for me before I uploaded but we will see. No worries. I will get the new ROM up tonight.

One last thing;
If you were getting corrupt image how did you get stuck in bootloader???? That makes no sense (no pun intended) at all. If you cant flash a ROM how can y ou get stuck flashing it????

Ok, I downloaded the ROM again. I cant find a problem with it. Maybe your download became corrupt? You can try again. I re-posted the link to the ROM in Post #1. I am watching it boot up now. Seems fine to flash for me.

question from a newb to custom ROM's.
is cooking in the programs what makes the rom run faster? otherwise i don't see the point of custom roms.
Also, can I put any cab file I want into the kitchen? or just what you have posted in there?
Last question, if yes to cab file question above, to I have to reflash everytime a newer version of a program comes out? or can i just download cab as before?

Thanks if you could answer these. I am basicly looking to speed up my stock sprint phone with mobile shell. nothing fancy, don't care if it even has tf3d.

1. Yes, partly. Tweaking the ROM, which I have done in the kitchen autmatically will make it run faster as well.

2. No but you can load a cab file after you flash the ROM.

Cimply click "Load ROM" and select the only option available. Now you will see a bunch of "stuff" Ignor the core packages as you will need all of those and scroll down to the programs. Pick and choose the ones you want by double clicking. For the meantime you may want to just leave it as is. Next click create ROM and the rest will be taken care of. When the ROM is done it will bring up the RUU to flash. Flash ROM like normal and thats about it. If you have questions along the way dont hesitate to ask.

I tried and decided its so complicated (thats why only Cal is doing it for now in a downloadable kitchen) that it transcends what I am trying to do. I am going to keep it at sense 2.1 for now. Sorry man.

Yes, just deselect it in the Manila options in the kitchen.

What's the benefit of this over the Stock Rom with the cleanup .cab?

I ask because that is just what I was about to do until I saw this. Right now Im using Calkulin's 6.5 ROM with Manila disabled and running SPB's Mobile Shell with the MobileSense 3.5.3 theme running on top of it. I figured I might as well go back to Stock and gain some speed.

This is much faster than stock and already cleaned up. Try it. You may or may not like it. Its all choice.

I have created and added a NEWB GUIDE to cooking in this kitchen. Its attached to the first post. Its aimed at someone who has never cooked before. Its 5 pages long in PDF format. 5 Pages of screenshots with two lines of text per page. Yeah... It really is that easy. If you have questions after reading the newb guide let me know.

hi Scott

great kitchen! Cooked up a nice rom. So far, so good. Only thing thats not working so well is youtube. cannot play errors on some videos and constant buffering on others. no biggie, just wanted to let u know.

also tried installing kimi's email mod, the sense 2.5 mod for sense 2.1. no luck but this would look great for the email tab. thanks again!!

cool, by the way, hands down fastest sense 2.1 rom I ever used! weather animations are quick. slide out keyboard, screen transitions are immediate! low memory usage as well, havent been above 50% yet. Gonna add a spb ms as well with tf - spb switcher to boot :) Also, found a cab (Thanks Mightymike!) to give you the sense 2.5 email view which is great. Here it is along with a couple sshots.

Also, sprint tv works perfect. email (exchange, windows live), text messaging, mms all work. Also scrolling works great in emails which I couldnt get to work in other kitchens. Thanks Scott. :headbang:

Thanks Scott, gonna give it a good workout today see how it reponds.

Here's a transparent slider, need both cabs to get it to work correctly, Also transparent clock cab. pic attached. thanks C07

Lastly here are a couple spb Mobilsense pics. You can customize it anyway you like. Also the cab to switch back and forth on the fly. Nice change of pace :)here the thread to follow: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=604146 thanks to the makers of course! Good luck.

Flashed to this yesterday and will be sticking with it. Great work Scott!

Riley, I downloaded the 2.5 e-mail cab, and transparent sliders aswell. I haven't installed them yet though. How does that other shell perform? I like the look of it but I would rather have performance any day!

it works great. I prefer sense 2.1 and 2.5 but occassionally pop over to try out spb which is easy to do with the switcher! It really preference. Alot of people prefer spb. the mobilesense theme is a great addition to the standard spb interface. you need spb 3.5.3 installed first, then mobilesense just to be clear.

Sprint TV isn't working on mine. Also experiencing the SMS message "undread" bug, and youtube not working (already discussed) Another thing, while the ROM package says 1.2, when the Flash Program loads, it says 1.1. Otherwise, I have SPB Mobile Shell and MobileSense running on this baby and it is definitely smoother than when I was running 6.5

Great work! I think I'm sticking with this one too once the streaming video stuff is fixed (The SMS bug fix is floating around the forums I think)

Also, is there anyway to disable HTC Notifications? Besides cooking?

Once the streaming issues are fixed, I'm probably sticking with this one, awesome!

I updated the known issues! The apps reported not to work do indeed work. See below.

Known Issues
Sprint TV will not play the Welcome video when very first launched, gives connection error. Click OK and normal functionality is fine.

Youtube will not play a video the first time its launched. After trying to play a video exit app and restart YouTube. Its fine from there on out.

here you go:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=604146 good thread. Naong has done a great job. Probably will be an update soon I would think :)

you need to have spb ms installed first, then this overtop. I heard it's tough to get it working correctly if you cook in spb ms since the mobilesense tweak need to be saved in the same place. Not sure though. I usually just install spb 3.5.3 via cab, soft reset, then install mobilesense. also add the sense - spb switcher and delete spb mobileshell from the windows>startup directory so it doesnt load on boot. Hope this helps.

also looks like this is another one based on sense 2.5: http://pocketnow.com/tweaks-hacks/ma...h-new-features should be out soon. Just wonder about how much this will slow down the device which to me is not worth it.
