Yeah, maybe for tomorrow. Took the day off today (from cooking, not life unfortunately).
True, Sashimi is also much more robust. It's also has a huge learning curve, something that most people (including myself!) won't take the time to learn. XDA_UC is a no brainer: create directory, drop in files. For that reason, it's much better for the majority of folks.
How about...you just pop out the microSD card on 1st boot? Or simply rename the directory.

Keep it simple.

Going further, my including XDA-UC doesn't preclude you from using Sashimi, does it? So let those who want to use it, use it and you can continue using Sashimi. Seems easy enough. But for the average guy, I think XDA_UC is brilliant in its simplicity. Sashimi will always be niche.

Hey Mal this ROM I'm running is badass! This is the longest that I have ran a single ROM... I have one question here it goes. I running a custom taskbar CDMA_bilbobrian_taskbar_mightedit and the TP2-Batt 1%. They seem to run fine until nightfall and I charge. In the morning the custom battery icon is missing and a reset doesn't fix. That's all I got. Could be another cab or something on my part... Oh by the way I'm running your 6.5.3. Thanks.

When you click on the icon on the tab does anything come up? The version of Opera cooked in must be first accessed from the start menu. After that you have to accept the agreement, then you can use it from the tab. A file/host error will keep coming up each time you use it. I installed a previous version of Opera and made it my default so I can access it from the internet tab. If this helps you out I can post the cab for it.
If this is not your issue, sorry about that. Maybe a little more info?

my error says could not locate remote server
so u r right that i have an error message. i went and opened it from the start menu and it still did not work. no option to accept anything

Mal, good thoughts. In reality, I like them both, but I do agree that XDA_UC is easier to use and set up. Your idea of directory rename will work perfect. Keep smiling!

PS: Yes I am looking at you astainhellbring :evil:, I been waiting for an updated rom from you guys in your thread. I really liked that rom quite a bit, I even liked the splash screen everyone else complained about:). Its been 2 months since the initial release of that rom, I just wish you guys updated it more or something.

Hi Mal or anyone running the latest TITANIUM build (it's super fast, love it), does anyone know how I can organize the icons list/start menu(after pressing windows key)? In the 1.5 b3 WM6.5 w/ Sense 2.1 regular version, all you had to do was CLICK and HOLD then the icon "lifts off" so you can drag to any position you want. Titanium build only gives the option to MOVE TO TOP when you click-hold an icon. Thanks for any help.

I think you may be confusing two things:

• Only WM6.5.3 has the "move anywhere" start menu icons
• WM6.5 has "move to top"

In other words, the "move anywhere" feature was developed after WM6.5. I'll try to have a WM6.5.3 sans Manila build tomorrow, which will give you that feature.

Ah, I see, well that is sure an important feature in the .3 release they added lol, the "move to top" option is CRAZY to use if you want to position all your fav icons in an certain order, it's almost like a puzzle game trying to figure out which one of the apps to move 1st, 2nd...

Thanks again. Will eagerly await your Titianium update tomorrow, I just love the speed and simplicity of it, the sense 2.1 weather on today page looks funky in landscape mode and even in normal display still glitches sometimes (flickering & stuttering) so I don't really like it although it does loks nice.

theres simple cabs for user pref. items, please keep the rom lite and fast, seems nobody likes loading there personal favs. i use totalcommander a ton but i just dl it.

Love your ROM! Couple of quirks was text messaging with the physical keyboard would jump to portrait mode while typing. Also the keyboard doesn't always light up.

Also anyone running Slingbox on MalROM? The icons for the little menu buttons don't show up unless I am in Landscape mode. Also some of the other icons below don't seem to show the graphics up in the Slingbox program. Anyone with answers?

Yup, maybe tomorrow.
That's because its on XT9 by default on 1st run, turn it off and it's fine. It won't pop up. There's no bug with the KB.

KB doesn't always light up due to the KB light sensor ;-) Turn it off.
Settings --> Buttons --> Backlight --> Turn off auto sensor

As far as Sling goes, you using what is it v1.6 or the 2.0 beta?
Try this one (attached), usually works for me.

Everyone else: no joke I just optimized some more (WM6.5, 21887). Result?

• 20MB + ROM (255MB on Boot)
• 10MB + RAM (86MB after cache settles, Manila loads)

And yes, it's even slightly faster than my previous releases. Even I'm kind of in awe...

Will be working into a ROM refresh probably in 2 days (including WM6.5.3). I just want to double check everything.

Yeah, that's right...forgot about that. Just go to \My Programs and you should find it under Pandora or something. If you use Resco Explore, you can use that to create a shortcut to the Start Menu.

Darren quick question as you are like a guru of information.. I am running Mal's latest ROM 6.5 Sense 2.1.. Is it possible to reply to a text message with a picture message? I can not for the life of me get that to work..each time I have to go to new message...thanks in advance

edit: ya, i can. i can rely or forward or whatever i want. after you get the mms hit the bottom right softkey to reply or forward ect.

Here are a couple of screen shots showing the centering problem I have with Touchflo SMS Tab on MalROM 1.5b2 (6.5.3/2.1) .

The 1st pic shows the SMS TAB on MalROM. The text is scrunched to the left and appears slightly blurry as though the image was zoomed into.

Why the difference between the two? I am missing a setting or are the manila Version on the 6.5.3 ROM quite different from the 6.5 rom

I stress again that it is not a deal breaker not to use MalROM, but since the MalROM is close to perfect (IMHO), I would appreciate help on getting this anomaly be resolved.

I am running Slingbox v 1.6.0.114. I downloaded directly from the website. I chose Sprint PPC-6800 version and enabled GDI rendering. Some of my buttons don't show up in portrait mode. In Landscape mode some of my buttons are greyed out. In both modes there seems to be a weird triangle icon under the volume button. Also is there a way to get into Landscape mode without opening the keyboard? The only way I am able to get landscape is by opening the keyboard. Once I close it the Slingplayer goes to portrait mode. If you have a version that works fine can you post the cab?

I love this rom. It is fast and seems less buggy than other roms I have used. I am using 6.5.3 version. Is there a memory problem that I was reading in a few posts before? Should I switch to 6.5?

Darren you are correct in the case of someone sending you an MMS, however if you receive just a text/sms there is no option to reply with MMS or with a picture..There is an option to insert ( small shaded area pops up --where you should be able to insert pic) but on mine that is greyed out and will not work..let me know if it is diff for you and again thanks for your response..

I wonder what setting is wrong on mine..I just received a text and I have no option to send back with a picture. What are you hitting..fyi..I get a text and I can open it from the message tab, it then takes me out of manilla and into the WM messaging area where I see the text ( in this case it is threaded) from there I see a box for typing a message and the 2 soft keys..one says send and the other menu..If i click menu I see delete, move, forwar, insert, my text, save, spell check, close and message options.. I do appreciate your help on this..

Please search before you post! There is at least one response on this forum stating that Groovefish works with the ROM. Also noted that you posted the exact same question on MM ROM forum; the answers can be found by searching there as well. yes it works, theres a new dll link posted in grooveshark thread, look in the back for a link posted by user"flyers2114" the dll is new and it needs to be dropped in groovefish folder, i get 0 errors with the new dll.

Darren, just to give some details..I downloaded Mal rom, (messed up and had this MMS cab in xda_uc, not sure if that messed me up)..I then ran Mal sprint provision, went back in and re-dowloaded the mms cab thinking that may have been the issue..

Darren, I think I'm using the same Arcsoft cab you're using (hell I think I got it from you!!, the 10m one, and I can't reply w/ a pic in the threaded sms, however... if I go to the message tab and hit menu, I can hit reply, menu, insert and insert anything I want, I just don't know if that goes into the threaded message. Are you able to do it in the threaded message too?

my cab i use is not the 10mb cab, i dont even have that one because i herd you cant forward to over 10 peeps, i use 5mb size increase after posted mms cab.
