How is performance on your MaxSense roms compared to CHT? I really like the GTX theme (and a new release from the GTX team is coming today) but it seems a bit laggy.

does anyone have a way of enabling the HTC Enhanced Menus in the 7/4 manila rom? i've tried a few different regedits and none of them seem to work

Try this-->

HKLM/SYSTEM/GWE/Menu/CUIHandler and set
0 = Windows default
1 = HTC Menu

your gunna want to set that to "0"

Sorry I mis read, if you want the HTC menus it should be "1"
For the standard menus it should be "0"

@jkraze, new max sense rom is still coming. just trying to get everything right.

@yearn, glad you like it, i used to include marketplace but it has been updated a couple times lately. i will try and either includde it next time or put it on the ftp.

for the enhanced menus, you will have to install the CAB, as i did not include it.

Not at a computer right now, but if you google search "htc menu enhancement cab (xda or ppcgeeks)" it will provide a myriad of results. There are several versions that will work.

edit: nvm as well, didnt even see the last part of ur message, lol. oh well... glad u got it worked out. oh, and if anyone is curious, i do like the htc menu enhancement, but it's just so much slower than the normal one. so that's why i don't include it.

Has anyone had a problem with the start button failing to call up the start menu???

The rest of the phone seems to work fine but I just can't get to the start menu with the start button until I soft reset the phone.

This is the first problem of this kind that I have had.

I will clean flash and then reflash to see if that helps.

Any ideas would be helpful.

I am using the CHT version for Sprint.

@wizzard, whats up wizzard, long time... anyways, i'm actually on the cht rom now. haven't had that happen yet, but over the months i have seen that happen a couple times. not sure what causes it though. sorry i can't be much more help.

@jkraze, i'm glad that you so feverishly want the new max sense rom. it's always nice to know my work is appreciated, and that goes for everyones comments as well. anyways, i'm having an issue with the newest version of max sense cooking in. something in the rgu is causing an issue that i have yet to track down. as soon as i do, the rom will be uploaded.

Are you using S2P? I noticed that the hardware start button doesnt work unless i closed S2P.

I have never used S2P, but you might check the registry entries for that before you install. Maybe it is throwing something off. Only thing I could think of... unless (and i'm not sure how S2P is written/programmed), but if it's not the registry, it's just something in the code interacting wrong.

New beta version of the MH UC is up for download for beta members in the misc folder of the beta ftp. Let me know what you think in the chat, and if anyone else is interested, I might let a couple non beta members test it.

Big question

If I paid to have my phone work for metro pcs and they have to flash it. Will I lose everything if I flash max sense laster? Or do I have to have the metroflash ONLY.

It's just settings you have to enter, unless you put it in CAB form like the other carriers, or cook it in if you have a package. If your ESN is in their system and is working, you shouldn't need anything from them. The settings for metro pcs are in that thread I linked above.

There are boost settings (maybe cab too) around the forums for tp2's that you could use when you first flash a ROM to set it up.

yea but my MSID always changes when i flash...on the sprint version rooms if i enter the ##special number they gave me # i can edit the msid fine..but on this rom it doesnt work so i dont know how to edit them.

When you say "on this rom" at the end there, do you mean the max sense ROM? If so, I know why.


On a different note, does anyone want to see MH UC have the ability to start *.exe files? Thought about maybe doing that, and I have some more ideas that might change the whole layout and structure of MH UC to a certain degree.

Actually yes, and that's not a bad idea. I will add that to the list of things to do, and think about the best way to implement that as I don't really don't want to do a check list style like with the CABs. As far as Max Sense goes, it's because the carriers not cooked in like the Sprint specific ROMs. On the updated Max Sense, carriers will be cooked in like everything else. For now, you could look back in this thread a few pages back, and the link I gave someone else for ## dialer codes should work for you, just might have to install a CAB or two.

i found another cab dibbs that kinda works ...well at least for the internet works..but the picture mail ..lets just say i sent a pic to my self..and yet had it return lmao...so i dont know on that part...but yo check it.... I kinda noticed a litttle slow down on ALL roms when installing cabs...i mean from a fresh flash thing is super quick and responsive but after i insatall sashimi and install most files to the SD card...its not as fast as it was...i mean i can see it slowing down if things were installed to the main storage on the phone but the sd ? am i just installing to much stuff and trim down on the games :D or what

Well, I haven't experienced any type of slow down. I would bet it might be something your installing that is causing the slow down. Best way to check, albeit it's tedious, is to install one thing at a time and test to see which one is causing the issue.

Also, for beta members, there is a new MH UC version on the beta ftp for testing and comments. UI and menu structure have been reworked.

1st Impression: Really like the menu structure. Seems much more responsive. Navigation is straight forward. Not sure I will be using the Forum tab, though. Not that user friendly on the TP2. No fault of the app. The neutral color and graphics (black and gray tones) are not very flashy, which to me is a good thing because won't clash with whatever theme I may chose. Overall I like it quite a bit!

Cool, the forum tab is gonna be reworked for better view ability. The "neutral color"/theme is to better match the overall feel of the ROM. Still got a few more things to work on though, but it will make it's way into whatever ROM gets updated next.

Dont know about ya, but im playing around with Bigmax's rom....looks great yes, got to admit the art is amazing, speed is pretty fast also...but its just missing something that Medium hill has ..idk what it is.....but it sure is worth it.

I realize u r hungry for new max sense, unfortuantely, bigs gets the files a little before the rest of us and is kinda the initial tester. I am also in the midst of redoing all ROMs as I have reworked the MH UC so that it doesnt need the older PIE. All ROMs going forward will have the newest IE versions and link will be back on the start menu.


@Moziah, all browser based items are user friendly now.

Well, that particular question didn't take long to be asked, lol...... To be honest, I am really trying to wrap up the UC upgrade before I start cooking the final updates. I am not going to give an outright date, as I don't want to disappoint if something comes up. But..., I would say around the middle to end of next week. I hope to have the UC wrapped up this weekend and then start on the ROMs.
