@dibbs, the rom was a fresh install with a few apps installed from MHU app, and slaker, MS RDP 6.5, CHT 1.7.1, and CHT editor 1.7.1.1.

I will reflash today, and not install CHT.... or anything for that matter ( The 1st beta went so well that I decided to hit this one with everything I got 8) ). I had gotten a funny feeling that it maybe CHT, which is why I uninstalled it during my last few test. Didn't consider it would leave damage to manila.

I'll report back later with my findings... er, maybe tomorrow as its my brother-in-laws 21st bday and we are suppose to go out tonight. ;)

It's been awhile since I have known someone young enough to have a 21st birthday, but I can remember those parties for sure ;) Anyways, yeah, even after uninstalling CHT 1.7.1 and CHT editor 1.7.1.1, the problems are still present in the ROM unfortunately. Thanks for putting the ROM through the ringer though, it definitely helps.

Dibbson, Any future plans to release a 6.5.x clean rom or "titanium" rom as before? I know its a lot of extra work. I have been running one I made from cal kitchen (little buggy, not as cool as your roms) with the latest sys but I love how fast this phone runs with all of the free ram. I am running at 125 mb at boot and never fall below 95 or so. Its a freekin speed demon - and no manilla.

I mean a clean rom with your updater app would be the shiznick.

Also finally figured out how to autoconfigure my email accounts using xda_uc, anyway to translate that info to something I can impliment via cab or updater app?

Running the ROM on Verizon with CHT 1.7.1.
I had one instance of SMS not rendering correctly in landscape, but a soft reset solved that and I haven't seen anything glitchy since.

Now watch...as soon as I post how well my phone is working, something funky will happen!! Hopefully I did not jinx myself! :-\"

Seriously, I am loving this ROM, even with Cookie. Battery life is unreal...speed is sweet...no complaints whatsoever! Hoping that it stays that way!

I am running your 23559 ROM with Co0kie 1.7.1 and CHT Editor 1.7.1.1 and everything works perfect!

I am waiting for your 23563 release or later to begin using the Voldeus background cab.

On a real note. When I go to the email tab - then flip to and tap one of my emails to read it. The stacked emails kind of flip and "jump" around a lot before the email actually opens to be read. I'm not sure what is causing it. I've only noticed it on this latest ROM with Cookie 1.7.1 loaded. Anyone else see this? Or did I just miss it in the past?

Yeah.. a little quiet but that can be a good thing. ;) cookie is good but I don't see a real need for it. I don't mess much with Sense UI and typically leave it stock unless any UI enhancements are cooked in by the chefs.

Maybe it's UI lag? does it still happen on a fresh boot?

@Dibbs,
I reinstalled the latest Verizon test rom yesterday, and have not had any issues with answering calls. Only cabs installed are total commander and my phone. Went though the calling test and all is well. I did notice that on one of my calling test, I happened to receive an email and sms at the same time... The call was in at about 20 seconds before my cell register the call and rang. I guess that is normal behavior, but never considered that maybe this type of behavior could cause scenarios where I here the phone only ring once or twice, and by the time I slide to answer the call, it has already been forwarded to voice mail, and I miss the call. I do get a lot of emails during the day, and I always have exchange sync emails as the arrive... so that above scenario might be much more common for me then most people.

On a side note, after uninstalling CHT 1.7.1 the other day my phone start acting really weird and unstable. Most notable was it started draining the battery really fast... it died within 4 hrs after a full nights charge. Anyways thought I pass on my experience.

It's been a while since I have posted because each build I install is just SOOOOO good. But this last one 23559 (Sprint) seems to be missing something. Now, this could completely be me. But I am unable to get MaxManilla installed. I though it would be included, like it has previously (perhaps I missed the memo.) I also tried installing the v3.0 for 2.5 and it f'd up and I had to uninstall. I miss my notification icons and the 16 shortcuts, plus I always disable the weather animation on home screen. Do I need to re-install or what?

yes, a bunch of apps have been removed and put in the mh updater app. this way you can customize which apps you actually want. sorry, havn't tried mm for a couple rom updates bc cookie home tab is so awesome. maybe somebody else has and could chime in there.

@ klynch I was having the same problem with MM. You got to do a complete restore on the phone because even if you uninstall the software it still seems to lock things up at random. Not sure what going on but i jumped on the band wagon with cookie home tab. It works for me I guess but like MM better. I know if you go back a few updates it will work but cant remember which one it was. I think it was like 4 or 5 updates ago.

Well, here is the pic of the alpha build, for those that didn't get a PM about it before. It will not replace the current ROM, just a side project to see what I can do, still working the graphic layout a little. As far as issues with max manila, I have no immediate answer as I haven't messed with it in quite some time now.

Dibbs - I finally downloaded and installed the new Verizon ROM last night and must say that it's by far the best I've used so far. It's fast and it works, at least for everything that I've done so far. I'll put it through more crap today. Keep up the great work!!

Update: Here is a newer pic. Been working on both regular update and with windroid theme. Most of the work has been going on under the hood, but I have played with the layout a tiny bit though.

On the VZW test ROM when I close word after opening a document from the documents tab it locks up and I have to reset it in order to get the phone working again. Facebook tab is not showing updates and I had to manually sync my favorites. MMS, texting, Visual Voice Mail, Internet, Calls in and out using Bluetooth to pick up and hang up work as well. All I have found thus far.

Doc and eReader tabs can be iffy sometimes, nothing I can really do about that unfortunately. Yeah something funky is going on with facebook updates period Thanks for testing and letting me know the results.

dibbson, I have been flashing around awhile - followes SSK, mightymike, NRG - this is the BEST rom on this phone I have ever used - loaded it about a week ago and was wating for the shine to wear off - but it hasnt. Every other 6.5.x rom i have tried has been chock-full-o bugs - this one is very mature and I think I am sticking around. Also - your updater is genius - I used ti to load alot of the apps that I usually would with sashimi or the like but didnt have cabs for.

Thanks, glad you are enjoying the ROM. Yeah, the online updater can be convenient and will only get better with time.


Also, just a quick peek at one new feature that has found it's way into the ROM is the Rhodium Keyboard Control. It really helped with the windroid theme, and filled in the gaps with shortcut control. Controls for now are set at this for the standard update and the windroid theme. I took out ameba since long press of back key is now mapped for that.

Sprint & USCC
send key == click = phone & long press = voice command
windows key == click = startmenu & double click = last sense tab you were on
back key == click = default back and application minimize & double click = brings up Arkswitch & long press = closes application or the equivalent of pressing OK when needed.
end key == click = default action & long press = lock device (although sometimes it will vibrate first before it does it oddly enough.)

Verizon
Everything is the same except the end key. The end key is default.

Cool... liking the new look.

Also, really glad that Rhodium Keyboard Control is now in the rom. Saves me from having to install it. Love the fact that I can map the tab, ctrl, and pipe keys. Makes using putty that much easier.

Dibbs, I thought I looked at both but for sure the 2.1. Funny thing, today I sent a message and now I see it in there. Wierd. I'll keep looking into it.

Also, if my text message doesn't go through, would I get an error message? I know people hated on the "messent sent" window but in my house we have the crappiest reception so, it was nice to know that the text was sent. If we get an error on failure than that's fine so we'll know but if not, is there any way to turn the "message sent" window back on?

Yes, you would get an error message if it couldn't send it.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settin gs] Set SMSNoSentMsg to 0

Also, that "crappy reception" will really affect your battery life compared to being in a strong signal area.

Yes, our battery life isn't the greatest when we're in the house. We don't even have a voice plan anymore b/c we kept missing or dropping calls. So we now we just have the landline and unlimited data plans on our tp2's.
