Basically heres whats happening.... As you know, I have many versions of ROMs, regular, signature series, and many variants... So, I decided to make a WM app for my ROM that you can start from the start menu, and when it starts up, it will allow you direct connect to my ftp site. I will have categories for Wallpapers, tsk's, taskbars (themes and custom icons), cab's, and updated ROM's. When you select one of those, it takes you to the next page and loads the ftp folder with those specific files in it to download. You can then download and customize your phone all in house. Why, you ask? Well, it takes the burden off me a bit, because i don't have to cook and upload so many different rom's. This way, i can have a few base roms, Titanium, 2.1, and 2.5 with carrier variants and then you guys can use the app to customize your phone with any of my themes and what not to your hearts content. I will use post #2 for all ROM themes that are available (just like now) on the ftp, and post #3 will be for cab's and such. This will save you time from downloading and flashing new ROM's all the time when I release a new theme/version, and the only reason you would need to update the ROM is for a new SYS version. Hot fixes for my ROM's will be listed as cab's in the cab section of the app. I hope that kinda explains the direction the app is going in. I am very close "i think" to finishing.

UPDATE: Just cab'ed up my app for the first time and installed it on my phone. Need to adjust graphic layout just a bit, and link the ftps and thats it. Hopefully should be done today, but i do have to step out for a few hours today, so maybe if i can't finish it today, then tomorrow at the latest. Will have some screen shots later today for ya!!

So it appears that 23619 is a different branch of sys and does not have the "conversations" view in pocket outlook like 23517 does.

Yea, sometimes the branches seem like some of the features are scrambled, lol. Anyways, i hit the app hard since i got home, and finished it up. I am in Beta phase now testing it to make sure it works alright. I also have to move everything around on my ftp which will take a little time, cuz when I do that, I have to adjust the links on my various threads and posts. Anyways, here are two teaser shots of the app.

New app or rather the "Medium Hill New Life Updater" is running pretty flawlessly, so it's done. Now, I just have to organize the downloads which will take some time, but the app is ready. So, i'm gonna take a break before i start moving/organizing the downloads. So i'm gonna start cooking a new Sense 2.5 version.


UPDATE: Testing 23517 2.5 build now. MMS does work, u just have to use the text app in accessories folder instead of messaging on TF. TF messaging is still good for SMS though. Reverted back to regular wvga htc phone canvas instead of leo package phone canvas. Also raised the MMS send size to 20MB, hope thats enough, lol

Ok, here we go. SYS 23517 Sense 2.5 1922 with Medium Hill New Life Updater Application is available for Download for Sprint at the Top of Post #2. Verizon and USCC will follow as uploads are slow tonight, they are still uploading. All info on this build can be found at the top of Post #2. Still have some work to do, ALOT of CAB'ing of themes and files for proper installation, so the FTP directories are not full yet. The Updater app is fully functional, just not much to play with yet in the FTP's cuz I did not have that many files ready, was trying to get the app done first. So tomorrow is going to be spent cab'ing. PLEASE read the info in Post #2 about the ROM :) and enjoy.

hey jus flashed the 23517 build on sprint. The EZInputsetting module on the TF3D setting tab seems still missing. Sure you jus missed it. check it out, under locale and text/text input..

try startmenu>settings>personal>input. This works for me. Just woke up, so not coherent enough to give a better answer, lol.

Liking the ROM. Thanks for all the hard work. Any idea how to get Sprint TV working? I keep on getting the message:
"Unable to launch Sprint TV. Multimedia support is already in use by anotherapplication. Please close any audio or video programs that may be running and try again."

I've done a soft reset and still get the error with no programs running.

Unless you corrected this in the past 5 minutes the USCC link points to the root of that site instead of to the ROMS folder. Damn typos, hehe. Bout to flash as soon as it downloads. Thanks in advance

just flashed to the updated rom and great as usual. the only issue that i'm having is that the phone doesn't ring or show pictures on the caller id or on the full contact list but they do show up in my contacts favorites, i've had this issue with other roms which was fixed by provisioning the device. can anyone shed a little light on my situation i'm pretty sure i missed a simple step.

i have not tried a Sprint TV CAB on this, so i would need to have the cab you have to check it out if you want to post it. I will try and see what i can do.

Link Fixed, sorry about that, I was still asleep when i woke up this morning, lol.

yeah, I notice the phone ring thing as well today when I missed a couple of important calls. Although at least the call history is working now. Not sure what provisioning the device with a cab would have anything to do with it, considering the provisioning files i use work fine with every other rom. I have always read and been under the assumption that it was an issue of 1922 just like the mms, but maybe they changed or have added something to the provisioning files just for 2.5 1922 which could explain it, and at that point, I could just cook a blank ROM. But, this is something i am looking into, and have a couple of ideas as to why. I have started going through the 2.5 packages trying to track some things down and revert to older dependency versions of certain things if needed. Anyways, 2.5 is always a work in progress since it is still fairly new.

I probably won't have any ROM updates today, unless it's to add to the base ROMs. I am going to try to start CAB'ing things up to put on the FTP for the Updater App.

Keep posting bugs though. Cuz once I get the cabs done, I'm going on a bug squashing safari in my ROM's.

I've been using the cab from this thread. It's worked with several TP2 ROMS I've tried in the past. (Juicy, Mighty, NRG)

About 40 minutes. Uploading a few things at once. Haven't tested it very long though. I pretty much cooked, flashed onto my phone, and made sure it booted, lol, and uploaded. After it finishes uploading, i'm gonna make a couple theme cabs for the updater.

MS Office has been updated in the SYS. Threaded Email is there again. Seems to run a little smoother. Other than that, i'm not sure. Just got the files a few hours ago and loaded them up.

For the updater app, Make sure in the comm manager that the data connection is on and shows it's on. Thats the only time i get an error, is when it's not turned on. Other than that, it connects everytime.

Try reflashing. Once the "tap screen to continue" pops up, let it sit there for a minute (still seems to be loading stuff sometimes when that first pops up and doesnt like to b disturbed, lol). Then tap the screen and everything goes fine. I always do it that way and never have an issue.

It's ok, sorry you had the issue. To get to where you can flash again. Power down your phone and hold the Volume Down key and Power button together and that should take you to the tri colored boot loader screen. Connect to your PC and flash away.

And also to clarify on the updater app. I did not code it to automatically start your internet connection upon app load. That's why i said, if you get a page can not be displayed error, to make sure that the data connection shows that its on in the comm manager. Other than that, there is no reason it shouldn't load the ftp directory.

the rom file itself is dated now, 28205, 23517, and 23518 are all within the last few days. Also, when i finish moving everything on the ftp, the date thing won't be an issue as the thread will be completely overhauled within the next few days.
