Check your regional settings. Maybe it is set to a country that doesn't use daylight savings? Thats my only idea I just started using winmo a week ago

Google maps my location fix
Finally got it working, had to add these to the registry. Found on another post here and at xda:
in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Google\GoogleMaps
add these string values
supports_extended_ril 1
supports_extended_wifi 1
make sure location service is on of course start>settings>system>location settings

Did you add the GoogleMaps directory in Google? I only have Google/cll/permissionlist

I don't have a GoogleMaps directory to add those values to.

I reinstalled gmm while trying to get it work which made that directory but it still didnt work until I added those strings. I think if you just make the directory then add those it will work.

Correct. Just create the directory, add the strings, and reboot, and you're good to go...I attached the .reg file I created based on user10's directions.

Re: *Updated March 5th* NFSFAN's Custom WM6.5.5 ROMs

Is it me or there is no task manager icon to choose the settings on how programs close down via the X (close button)
So everything that opens up remains running in the background until you use that flaky taskmanager.

Thanks

That is how all of the 6.5.X roms work now. You have to go into the task manager to close an app.

Talking Re: *Updated March 5th* NFSFAN's Custom WM6.5.5 ROMs

NFSFAN,

Thanks for the GREAT rom! I am testing it out for the first time right now but I am noticing it to be quite slow with Manila 2.5 from the home screen mostly.

I changed the pagepool to 32 before I loaded the rom. Everything else runs fast and great except Manila 2.5 homescreen.

Also noticed that HTC messaging freezes STILL and takes forever to close most of the time. If this IS a WinMo problem, you'd think they would have fixed it by now with all these build updates.

Any plans to release a Sense2.1 version of your rom?

Thanks, I appreciate your hard work so far.

If anyone has any suggestions of fixes/things I can try, please feel free to share. Thx

You can try this regedit to turn off the animations on the home tab. I got it from MightyMike's forum.

I don't like the weather animations! How do I turn them off?
Just go into your registry and make this edit.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila]
"Home.WallpaperMode"=dword:00000002
Note: changing your wallpaper will reset this

You might want to try leaving the page pool alone or even lowering it if you have a Verizon TP. If I am not mistaken the page pool only contains executable code and not graphics or anything like that. I am running the rom with an 8mb page pool for my Verizon TP and it runs great.
