That issue has been a constant theme among all versions of THIS ROM. See my post here from early last month. It's strange not to have this feature, since pretty much every ROM I have used on here has it. Lately, I cannot even get a GPS lock with this ROM...

I haven't updated to this version of NFSFAN's rom, but on most of his I had to install QuickGPS to get the GPS to lock. Have you done that yet? If not, there is a cab attached to the thread. Once I installed it, I get a lock in a few seconds.

edit: Wow, my reading comprehension FTL. Realized my response doesn't have anything to do with what you were asking. I guess thats what happens when you spend days mired in actionscript.

Google maps and weather works fine without GPS or wifi for "my location" on my TP. The issue may be with EvDo or rA vs. 1x. Try setting your mode to 1x and see if that allows "my location" to work without GPS or wifi. I can get "my location" to say "your location within 3500 meters", I am in an area where towers are spread thin.

I have no problems with any GPS locating software using GPS. I constantly see 8 - 11 sats. 3D positioning is no issue at all, even indoors. I use the VZW 1.03.09 radio and get the best all around performance. I have added the QuickGPS cab also for quicker locks, usually 30-60 seconds.

Check your regional settings. Maybe it is set to a country that doesn't use daylight savings? Thats my only idea I just started using winmo a week ago

Finally got it working, had to add these to the registry. Found on another post here and at xda:
in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Google\GoogleMaps
add these string values
supports_extended_ril 1
supports_extended_wifi 1
make sure location service is on of course start>settings>system>location settings

Did you add the GoogleMaps directory in Google? I only have Google/cll/permissionlist

I don't have a GoogleMaps directory to add those values to.

I reinstalled gmm while trying to get it work which made that directory but it still didnt work until I added those strings. I think if you just make the directory then add those it will work.

Correct. Just create the directory, add the strings, and reboot, and you're good to go...I attached the .reg file I created based on user10's directions.

Attached Files
File Type: reg GMapsMyLoc.reg (220 Bytes, 26 views) Click for barcode!
