Also did anyone find a workable fix for the screen going black when trying to send a text by clicking thru one of the sense ui links.

Have you received any text messages from anyone else on this ROM? I do not have this problem and have read that the fix was receiving a message from someone else.

Re: *Updated March 5th* NFSFAN's Custom WM6.5.5 ROMs

Is it me or there is no task manager icon to choose the settings on how programs close down via the X (close button)
So everything that opens up remains running in the background until you use that flaky taskmanager.

Thanks

That is how all of the 6.5.X roms work now. You have to go into the task manager to close an app.

Are you sure about that, because I have used every single 6.5 out right now. And this is the only Rom without a system Task Manager Icon and exhibits this behavior of having programs running in memory even after Xn them out.

Thanks

There is a difference between 6.5 and 6.5.X ROMs. 6.5 has the built in task manager in the upper right hand corner, and 6.5.X ROMs use whatever task manager the cook builds in and you cant close progams with just tapping x like before. but who know i could be wrong. this was one of the reasons i stayed away from 6.5.X roms.

Yep you are wrong on this on the 6.5.X ones, some of them with the start menu on top the 21xxx series you can x is out from up top. But even the newer sys 23XXX on up allow you to close a program out that its not running in memory or so forth. When you X a program out in either version they should be closed out of memory, without going to task manager.

thx

Talking Re: *Updated March 5th* NFSFAN's Custom WM6.5.5 ROMs

NFSFAN,

Thanks for the GREAT rom! I am testing it out for the first time right now but I am noticing it to be quite slow with Manila 2.5 from the home screen mostly.

I changed the pagepool to 32 before I loaded the rom. Everything else runs fast and great except Manila 2.5 homescreen.

Also noticed that HTC messaging freezes STILL and takes forever to close most of the time. If this IS a WinMo problem, you'd think they would have fixed it by now with all these build updates.

Any plans to release a Sense2.1 version of your rom?

Thanks, I appreciate your hard work so far.

If anyone has any suggestions of fixes/things I can try, please feel free to share. Thx

You can try this regedit to turn off the animations on the home tab. I got it from MightyMike's forum.

I don't like the weather animations! How do I turn them off?
Just go into your registry and make this edit.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila]
"Home.WallpaperMode"=dword:00000002
Note: changing your wallpaper will reset this

You might want to try leaving the page pool alone or even lowering it if you have a Verizon TP. If I am not mistaken the page pool only contains executable code and not graphics or anything like that. I am running the rom with an 8mb page pool for my Verizon TP and it runs great.
