Uh, I'll have to revisit the transparency mods again. Clearly, I was doing something wrong. On the last post of the XDA 2012 port thread I posted someone's suggestion on how to fix the Wallpaper issue. I wont' have time to really try it for a while. It involves regedits and making a cab, he says (I'm not sure if the cab part is absolutely necessary).

All the transparent mods seem to cook in just fine.

Changes to contact picker 1919 fixed my contact issues.

Yeah, I got the transparency mods down finally. I've been working on the background issue, but I can't make it work. Hopefully someone will come up w/an easy solution soon. I tried following what the XDA site said, but I'm too noob still and and unsure about a few of the directions.

No matter how nice 2012 is I'm not going to run it if I can't get the background deal taken care of.

Aight, so Sharkie405_2.5.2012 out of the box:

Minor Manila Mods...Check!
Something as simple as changing the wallpaper...




The HDWalls things look easy enough. I'll give that a shot at some point. I've gotten it to a point I can deal with.

Link to contact picker http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...633795&page=49 post 490. Cook in regular contact picker first then half patched. Might need to rename a little to get proper order. That was all I changed. Didn't use any of the others at that post.

With HDWall all I have managed to change is color of taskbar & softkey bar. Sure I 'am doing something wrong. How did you change wallpaper?

I haven't messed with HDWall yet, although I plan to. I replaced manila file 4bfcbbee_manila using the program cfc_gui, then made it into a cab for easier install than cooking in a new file in everytime. The nice thing about doing it that way is there's no need for a bg4all mod. It's not perfect, as you can see. There are small black lines on the top and bottom of the portrait wallpaper. HDWall seems to be the way all the big boys are doing it.

I was thinking last night why not just edit manila files. I guess I have something else to learn.

in the RootROM thread I posted a cfc_gui (Manila Editor) and a link to the XDA M9Editor thread (also a manila editing program). If you search for those words in that thread you should find the post. I'm at work and can't post it here at the moment.
