No...if there is a new build it will be a new ROM release (with hard reset required)...anything else with be of the .cab/regedit variety...per JD a few pages back...

Great job on this rom! I love how plain it is and how it doesnt include any programs I dont use (like quickgps). There are just a few things I need help on and I would be grateful for anyone to answer these qwuestions. (Btw i have an alltel touch pro).

1. When I click on "Pic/Video Options" or "Picmail", I notice that it says Sprint. Is there a way for me to uninstall the picmail and MMS so I can install the Alltel MMS cab i have? Im afraid to just install the Alltel MMS cab I have and overwrite the sprint one because I did the same thing on a different rom and it froze my messaging and required that I do a hard reset.

2. Also in messaging, typing on the keyboard is PAINFULLY slow. I know that the slow keyboard is a wm6.5 bug but in this rom, it is just too slow for me to even type at a resonable speed. Are there any setting in the registry or is there a cab i can install that will speed up the touch pro's keyboard response?

Typing is painfully slow? On this ROM? You may need to hard reset or reflash...i'm a pretty proficient typer and i have NO problems with this ROM not keeping up. In fact, other that DCD's ROM's i've never had any better response while typing. (DCD disables the number count and contact lookup which speeds up the typing...I'd much rather have the contact lookup though)

I had already done the hard reset and did it once more but still have not had any improvement in text messaging

. Do you know how to disable the number count? I dont really need that and im up for anything thatll speed up typing.

That is strange. I have no keyboard lag either. As mgioia2 pointed out, only DCD and this ROM had no lag at least for me. All others had from little to big lag. I use my kb all the time - emails at work and SMS - and I am not experiencing your issue. Did you try it on a clean ROM before you install all other cabs/programs?

On another note - I also experienced the misterious black screen issue mentioned here. I pushed the power button and phone did not come on. Then I opened the keyboard and it was lit which means the phone actually was on but the screen was black no matter what I pressed. Soft reset fixed it and it happened only once to me so far.

About the black screen, this has happened to me on other 23003 roms and i have heard of power issues with this build, i though it was a s2u2 issue, but even without it on this clean rom i still have it happen. What i found though is that it is not completely locked as i have had in the past if you give it some time it will come one at least this has been my experience and it always different sometimes 10 sec sometime 30or more. Only happened 2 times on this rom, but i can confirm.

Makes sense that it is related to the build since it never happened to me before on previous ones and since this one is very clean I suspected it is system related. Hope the next one has a cure to this. It only happened once to me so far and is no big deal.

You don't have to install or uninstall anything. Just go to the server settings and change to the following
Server Name: Alltel MMSC
Gateway: mms.alltel.com
Port Number:8080 OR 80 (Depending on your location.)
Server Address: http://mms.alltel.com/servlets/mms
Connection via: The Internet or Alltel Wireless

Got the black screen of death today as well, came out the gym and nothing...soft reset and right back to normal...
