If you mean the screen turned off then no, that wont work on the Sprint TP. If you mean the phone completely shut down, then I dunno, my phone is never OFF. The technique I described is the one I've read about most often and the one from the thread about locking, unlocking, and flashing from SD so it's what I go with. It's easy for me, I've got big hands

Like root said, install to your SD card so hard reset wouldn't mess with what you already set up. And if you read the txt file that sashimi came with, you'll see how you can set up things you want to install either to the device or to SD card. Follow http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=75214
that guy's got all the details you need to set up your device the way you want it even down to UC. Have fun, took me awhile to figure everything out but once you do, it'll be a breeze.

HAHAHA i just tried what you just said about puttin the phone into bootloader screen. I was able to do it with left hand on the vol down and power and using my right to press the soft reset button. It only works when the phone is on, if it's off, then you'll just turn on the damn phone. hahahahahahaha

to hard reset: first you turn off your phone. Second, you hold your vol down button and center D button at the same time then, while still holding those two buttons, you press and hold the power button until you see the screen instructing you to press vol up. Then you're on your way to HR.
And if you've followed the thread long enough, by now you should know since you're flashing to the new rom, you should just do the flash dance.
Flash dance, in case you don't know, means you flash the stock sprint rom , hard reset, flash the 1014 rom, hard reset. That will ensure you the least chance of a bad flash.

I don't know if you can simply make a reg edit...or if it actually backs up a copy of your manila file and restores that after a flash. Check his thread and get back to me. If its a reg setting, maybe we can figure it out. ...if it's a manila file that it just overwrites, I can zip up a copy of mine for you. Soooo....there's some direction for you. It is possible. My program Tab restores to 4 programs per row, with my shortcuts already in place.

Now...getting the old scroll down, single line, program tab sub menu may require some google searching. That was possible on older builds of TouchFlo 2.0, but there may not be a new mod for 2.1. Search around.

Sashimi is a good way to simplify reinstall of cabs, reg files and so on, but not a solution to what I'm looking for. Looking at it logically, if creating a 4 column menu in the Program tab requires installing a cab that includes manila files and a reg file which I assume was cooked into the Energy 6.5 standard rom, then replacing or removing those files and restoring the registry to orginal settings should restore the 3 columns in the program tab. But I haven't found a cab or reg edit out there that does it. The only fix everyone keeps erroneously referring me to is the start menu 3 column fix which has nothing to do with the program tab. Any other suggestions?
