I can't change the input. It will always change back to the default one.
Try using nuesipdefault.

I am having this same issue; also having the issue with the slide-out keyboard not working as decribed in another post. I am using the ROM version previous to August 12 update.

Anyone having isssues with/know how to fix the touchscreen keyboard layout? If my phone is horizontal, the letters almost line up with the button images, but if I switch to a vertical, the keys adjust but the letters don't so they just show up squashed against the lefthand side.

frizzlefry's post helped me with the default input setting. The keyboard functioning properly is hit and miss. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes if I just start typing and give it a few seconds it appears to wake up though function slowly with lag. I have flashed back to stock and it functioned fine as designed, then flashed the NRG Rom again with the same lackluster results.

Other than this little issue, BEST ROM EVER!

Edit: since installing the cab frizzlefry linked to and doing a soft reset, the default input setting is now set and not automatically reverting to the default. Interestingly, my slide-out keyboard is working much better as well. Have to see if that holds up, or I'm just having good luck today. Either way, thanks for the help!

Anybody have a compatible HTCRIE for Diamond/Touch Pro so I can remove PictureMail files to see if it fixes my ArcSoft issues?

I don't have the HTCRIE but have you tried the remove picturemail and arcsoft cab? I realize it removes arcsoft too but you can reinstall it.

I don't know how current these are but...
