By flashdance do I really have to flash back to the stock sprint rom first? I have been flashing this device for almost a year, and never had any stability problems as long as I flash a new rom, do a hard reset once it is up, and then finish the install.

I know that doing a hard reset after the initial install wipes the old memeory and is necessary sometimes. Why would flashing back to the stock sprint rom help? Just curious as to what difference that would make as oposed to re-flashing once the new install is loaded to make sure all old memory is wiped.

Also, I am curious as to how stable these newer roms are. I use this for business and thus use the 21xxx roms typically with sense 2.1 - feb 26th is quite stable.

I'm willing to flash back to stock sprint if this will really make a difference - btw if I do what stock rom is suggested? Mine is a newer touch pro so I think it came with the latest sprint update- should I flash to this one or an older one?

sorry, but did you mean that you had that 77% battery results AFTER applying the dll or without applying it?

I'm a bit nervous on overwritting that file. I wish I could back the file up before hand so I could test it myself but it keeps giving me a Error every time I try and copy it out as backup saying something like: ERROR cannot copy/protected.

oh and by any chance would you know how to get HTC album to flick through using verticle/landscape mode only? I know some roms have this included.

You probably know this already, but just in case you don't, first, turn your phone off completely. Second, hold down both the vol down and center D-pad, then press the power button at the top. Press vol up after you see the screen prompts you to do so.

I've flashed back to stock and now even that is not stable. After 4 - 6 hours of easy use, my phone loses contacts etc and then eventually locks up....a push button reset eventually gets it to start loading as if it's a new install but then freezes part way through. Flashing again gets it working for 4 - 6 more hours.....this cycle has been ongoing for the last couple of days.

Is "clear storage" icon the same as Hard reset? because, for some reason, I'm not getting the Vol-down/center-button combo to work.

what I meant was without the battery.dll, the battery life is still good. And I was just providing an example. i haven't seen the albums to be either in landscape or vertical when you're viewing the pictures with NRG since a while ago. I don't know any specifics on that. So maybe someone else can chime in.

Regarding the flash dance, basically what switching back to the stock rom does is supposed to place certain essential files and drivers where they should be that might have otherwise been misplaced during flashing. And a lot of the glitches and problems that are isolated to a few people are usually cured by flash dance. And the hard resets just add in some good measure of over-kill to make sure things will be smooth. It has worked for many frequent flashers. Of course none of this is required, if you've been lucky enough to avoid any disabling quirks then you can keep doing what you are doing till you run out of luck. I personally do an flash dance whenever I flash simply because I like the peace of mind that i'm starting fresh and clean so I know if I encounter any problems after flashing. Hope this helps you guys.

check out this link regarding hard reset. I think, clearly, you could really use some hard reset to rid yourself some nagging bugs that might be infecting your phone since a while ago. And of course, please follow through the steps of flash dance.
