Well TG, I tried it last night and didn't really care for it all that much. Facebook integration doesn't work, a LOT of screens need resized, and various other issues and non-working items to boot. I know it's an Alpha relase, but it does have a long way to go.

Deck's rom with the 2.1 manila is all I need. I'm still running beta 6, and have no intent on changing it unless Deck comes out with one of the WM builds with the newer menu interface... unless that menu change somehow affects the HTC Menu Enhancement package.

Yea, I wasn't even thinking about trying it, because it states at the beginning for peeps to keep in mind that it's an alpha release and has a lot of bugs.

I need my phone to function, so I'll be waiting on deck.

My facebook intergration works on the Alpha release. Actually i like it better cuz the person name dont have to be exactly the same to intergate it with contacts...Yes the screen resizing thing is a pain but for alpha release is pretty cool. Only other problems i have is messaging and footprints...For me to reply to a message in manilla i have to press all messages...

In SsS-ROM v0300 betas 4 and 6 the names don't have to be exactly the same in order to integrate them with facebook contacts. I've had no problems, and some of my contacts don't even use their real names at all on facebook. Messaging also works fine. Actually, this beta is running so smooth that the thread has been kind of quiet. I even found a cab install for footprints and it works well on my device.

So, I'm still gonna stick with what I've got til deck does an update. Plus, the TP2 will be out on Sept. 8. I haven't decided yet whether I'm gonna bite the bullet and pay full price or let them extend my contract...

I hope deck does something with manila 2.6 for the TP2. Hint Hint

Okay, let's start out with... WANNA SHARE THAT CAB?! lol

I was looking at the TP2 as well, but just can't justify spending the money on it since it seems there are only two real differences. The screen is bigger, and it tilts. Aside from that the Processor, RAM, and ROM are all the same size. The big draw to it right now is going to be the software, which I will just have to have faith it gets ported.

Oh, and thanks in advance for posting a link to that cab TG. You rock!

Did anyone find an answer to this. I'd really like for my phone to charge while plugged into usb?

I am able to change mine. I am running v300-b6. I went to Setting->System->Power->Battery and unchecked it there. Mine charges fine while plugged into the computer.

Uhhhhh, Oops, I'm sorry, Veedub! LOL!!! Here it is. Install the sdkcerts first, then the Tom Tom Supported Compressed cab (which is the footprints). Normally, you'd have to install Google Maps before the Tom Tom, but since the latest version is already included in deck's rom, it isn't necessary.

ENJOY!!!

EDIT: After installation, the footprints program icon will be located in the start menu in a folder called 'multimedia.' This is kind of a drag, so I added a shortcut in my programs tab to make it more easily accessible.

BTW, I overstand what you're saying about the TP2 and not being able to justify paying the price, but I can't resist. The screen size, the fact that it tilts to make it easier to handle and the much larger keyboard with offset keys... I'm feeling it. One of my sorority sisters has the T-Mobile TP2, she let me play with it Saturday night. It's niiiiiiiiicccccceeee. It screams BUSINESS, has a nice weight to it, but isn't as large as I thought it was gonna be. Of course, with deck's rom, we're running the same manila on our TP1s that's on the TP2, but Good Lord, it looks sooooo much better on that larger screen. LOL. And now with the more recent pics that have been released of the Sprint Version, I'm sold...

I'm not running the beta, but I have the same issue. You can not change this setting. However, I don't think it matters. My phone has been plugged into my computer and it is now fully charged.
