What I did to start popping my hotmail acct without messing with windows live was to misspell my email address, specificall the @hotmail.com part. If you do that it doesnt try to use windows live and you can just change the name back at the next screen. My TP is popping 2 hotmail accounts right now.

Is that the same end result you're referring to?

EDIT: ok the calculator is installed, but looks liek the shortcut got messed up. i would scroll to the windows dir and find htccalc.exe or calculator.exe (click on it first make sure its the right one) and add a shortcut to your start menu folder. it is the latest version available which had some fixes.

There is a calculator in the rom, but the shortcut in the start menu leads to that old, ugly blue and red calc. It's not the htc calc. I'll go to the windows dir like you said and map to the htccalc.exe.

Also, that sprint tv cab isn't working for me. It loads but never finds internet connection. It was supposed to be the latest version, but I have another cab that's an older version that will probably work.

EDIT: I checked the windows dir and didn't find htccalc.exe, so I'll use the cab install for now. As far as Sprint TV, I'm gonna try the other cab that I have and if it works, I'll post it...

Yes, its the same result but your getting hotmail without messenger the way you are doing it.

I never thought about trying it that way, I mean to get my hotmail without windows live. I'm gonna give it a shot. And it's cool, because if you're running the stuffed ROM, deck included the Oz IM app, which has MSN, AOL and Yahoo Instant Messaging included. So, you won't miss out on Messenger.
