I really feel like I am talking to myself here. Does anyone else actually use this ROM? Typically, there is a lot of give and take amongst the forum members but not too much here. Any reason why?

The way portrait/landscape is handled in this updated TouchFLO/Album seems quite different, and I am happy to adjust to the changes, but I am not sure it is all intended.

First the easy stuff -- when displaying a picture full screen it forces the picture into a best fit -- in other words you cannot view a portrait right-side up in landscape mode or a landscape right-side up in portrait mode (not that you would normally want to, the current implementation is visually more appropriate) -- it also won't rotate the picture based on the gsensor even though it does rotate the interface based on sensor data. Is this just the intended behavior in the newest version of this application?

Moving on...when I take a 'tall' picture, portrait, it previews fine...but when I take a 'wide' picture, landscape, it previews without having been rotated -- the preview is on its side. Landscape photos taken on the camera from the stock ROM are still previewed correctly alongside the new ones which aren't.

Using advanced config I enabled the option for automatically 'encode photos in portrait mode' -- but that causes the camera to temporarily lock up the application (for minutes) when it tries to actually save the file -- and the when it eventually kicks back in the picture is not saved -- so I have to leave 'encode pictures in portrait mode' disabled and don't yet know if that setting (if it worked) would solve my above issue. Eh, it's hardly even an issue. I just thought I should toss it out there...
Did you find a solution to this? I find it quite annoying since I frequently post photos from my phone. I've tried editing the registry for the gsensor, added camera to the whitelist and modulelist, but it doesn't help either.

My current solution is to open the keyboard when taking a landscape orientation photo.

I just went back to this rom because it was the smoothest I've been able to run and great on memory. I have two problems.

1) My camera might as well not function. The cross hairs take about 2 minutes before they show up on the screen.

2) I can no longer zoom in and out on text messages and opera pages using the multi-touch hardware button.

I just spent about a half hour searching and couldn't find an answer. I only saw a few "fixes" listed on rom updates about the shutter issue. Thx

Well, part of it was just getting used to Album 3's new display/zoom method, but no I never did find a solution to the landscape encoding issue. I suspect, however, that it might be the version of the camera app being used which causes the failure to properly encode a picture taken in landscape as landscape (and subsequently the preview being on its side).

SsS 121 (and 201/202?) has a camera version of 6.4 build 32007, and the [different] ROM I am on at the moment on where the landscape orientation is encoded properly has a camera version of 6.01 build 32976. Perhaps that is it. I don't know if you can simply install an older camera version over the newer one...but you might explore that possibility and see if it works...Good luck!

Hey Deck, I've been excited by the upgrade to 201 and 202 but I haven't been able to get any .NET apps to work. They're all looking for components of 3.5 which isn't installed. When I try to install 3.5, I just get an error code 3 which no one has been able to fix.

Could you add .NET 3.5 to 203 similar to how it was in the 1XX versions?

Otherwise, the new ROM has been amazingly fast...great job!

I've also been using this ROM since v118. I'm currently running v121, same as you. However, I'm not experiencing any of the problems that you are having. That's the only reason I hadn't responded to your questions regarding needed fixes.

The only issue i've experienced with v121 is the no scrolling when editing manila contact cards and the facebook integration error message. But I knew about these small glitches before I flashed the ROM. Sorry I couldn't be of more help...

Re: *ROM* *7/6* *SsS-ROMv0202* *WM6.5(23003.5.0.60)* *Rhodium Manila* *EzInput2.0* *U

Every Rom will have it's pro's and con's. Even a stock rom has it's good points and bad points. Custom roms will probably never be perfect. Almost always there is at least one bug or issue within anyone's custom rom and it all boils down to what each person can live with or not. Being this rom is based on wm6.5 and ported manila etc, we can't expect it to be completely flawless. Just try the roms you feel has what you want and need in a rom and go with the one that best suits your taste/preferences. So in my honest opinion the "best" wm6.5 roms on this site has got to be S3 and Juicy 8. (based on a stock appearance with best apps/working features).
