I am trying to pin down why a handful of people have the issue and others don't. Maybe it is the hardware version? I am running hardware version 0002.

I have flashed about 10 different 6.5 builds, hard reset, flashed back to stock, relocked, unlocked, etc...I do see a pattern in certain builds hanging at boot less than others. I have flashed every new 6.5 verizon build that shows up on here trying to figure out what the issues is.

For anyone who has this specific issue (Verizon Touch Pro hangs at boot screen SOMETIMES, and boots fine other times, with 6.5 installed), I would love to hear from you. Thanks!
I have run into the same problem with 4 differnet 6.5 ROMs I have tried. I think it is because all these ROMs are built for Sprint TPs and then made general carrier. When the VZW TP starts up it freaks a little and hangs. After a few restarts it forces its way through the Sprint stuff and runs.

I am hoping Scott will make a 6.5 kitchen/ROM based on 21198 since he has the VZW TP. That way I can see if this is the case or not.

Yup, that makes sense. I hope now that things have calmed down for Scott he can make an effort to build a better VZW 6.5 ROM. I did notice that 21198 does seem to boot more often than the previous builds.

Well, mine seems to be a completely isolated case and I can only assume was the result of a bad flash. The above was the only time it happened for me, and it hasn't happened since, after a reflash.

I think I might have flashed something like 40 times yesterday, guess it was bound to happen.

Did you try hard-resetting after you flash? a.k.a. "Clear Storage"

EDIT: Oh, and I haven't attempted a 6.5 build yet.

yeah, I've flashed more times than I can count. The issue is with 6.5 builds running on verizon touch pros.

And yes, hard reset, flashed back to stock, relocked, unlocked, hard reset, took out the battery, reflashed 6.5, took out the battery, hard reset, did a little twirl, prayed to the god of the north wind....

I think it RONMAC is on to something. Sprint flavored ROMS getting carrier stripped that still contain some junk specific to the Sprint touch pro hardware.

Maverick, hard reset and clear storage are two different types of resets. A hard reset clears out loaded programs and and other user installed junk and restores the ROM to it's initial state. Clear storage does this as well as clearing out the radio forcing you to reactivate your phone on the network (*22899 for VZW) and then forcing you to also reapply Bored's VZW GPS fix on the phone as well.

Using Clear Storage is ALWAYS the last resort for frequent flashers as it adds the extra steps that are not really needed.

Not sure if you were aware of this or not. I know I was not and am very glad it was pointed out to me.
