OK the theme problem is comfimed. I downloaded a BLack 6.5 theme called "pure black", it made the taskbar blue and it doesnt even change the menus black like it suppose to. AND it doesnt show the pic it suppose to show on the theme page. I JUST downloaded this theme with no problem on my last rom a half hour ago so its def something weird going on with this rom. Has anyone tried changing the theme in 6.5?

Edit: This is ONE of the themes I tried, actually NONE of the themes work.

Starman: Your 1.6 ROM ROCKS! I've tried Juicy's and Mike's and IMO yours is the best of the lot. More things work right out of the box, and since I don't have a lot of time to poke around trying to find fixes for things, that is a good thing. I'd like to point out one issue I've found to see if you or anyone else has experienced it. I loaded Sprint Navigation 2.1.7 and it seems to hang on the "Don't touch this while you are driving" screen. Any suggestions, or should I try a different program? Thanks for a great ROM, I appreciate your effort.

ATTN: Scratch this. I tried it again and it's working fine now. I'm not sure what happened earlier.

Use these and it will:

xbmod Manila fix V1B.zip

xbmod internetportal fix.cab

Not sure if one or both of these are needed. I used both and it now works.

Thank you for your time and effort in this project.

Arcsoft MMS installed & worked fine for me. You just need to install your carrier cab for it.
Only prob I have is Sprint TV.
EDIT: I am using the 1.6beta

Small issue.

start->settings->system->key lock

Doesn't retain it's settings on reboot. Every time I set the option to "do not lock buttons" and later on soft reset, that setting always comes back to default "lock all buttons ..."

I just flashed to StarROM 1.6 and I've tested using both Sprint Navigation 2.1.7 and Garmin Mobile XT with no problems.

Did you do another hard reset before installing applications? And did you try a soft reset after installing Sprint Navigation?

Could be a coincidence, but since flashing 5 people have now told me they are receiving the same message over and over again. Is this happening to anyone else?

I dont think this is ROM related. I've seen guys mention this quite often and it is something else because they seem to resolve it. I don't know how but I seem to remember this a lot in the Mighty threads so you might check the archives of those postd for the answer.

I thought as much, and most likely network related but wanted to make sure. No problems with 1.4 so didn't think it would be ROM related, just odd timing.

Thanks for your help.

The red screen was fixed in V1D here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=493531

I would think Star is already using it but I would think if you had the problem reapplying it would fix it or you can look up the albumpicker problem in that thread and see how to manually fix it. I don't know what TF3d star is using because I now use MS3

I just noticed this ROM (StarROM 1.6) does not have MS Office Onenote in the Office Mobile suite of applications...

I know Onenote came with all our stock ROMs (well it came on mine). How can I get Onenote setup and still use this ROM?

I use Onenote a good bit. I've either got to get it setup on this ROM or I'll have to flip back to Juicy 7.

Re: StarROM 1.6 WM 6.5 5.2.21215 Rhodium - Finally!!!!!

Cany anyone tell me a couple things before I flash over? I've used most of the 6.5 ROM's out there, but there are still a few niggles on each of the ones I've tried. I'm tempted to go back to 6.1, but the smoothness of scrolling and the speed is much better in 6.5.

Does this ROM have the BT icons show up when you turn BT on, and does it have the "ringtone is corrupted" issue that i've had on other 6.5 ROM's?

Oh, I almost forgot, does the data connection stay active after initial connection? This drains the battery quite rapidly if you don't shut it off manually or use advanced config to do it for you (which I couldn't find the right settings to do it).

Thanks

Could somebody check their windows directory and please tell me if you see pword.exe in there, he might have just taken the shortcuts away

Star's 1.5 has the OneNote in Office mobile folder. Glad I found this out I use this as well and will stick with 1.5

This was happening to me too. My friends were complaining that they were receiving the same text over and over.

I did a hard reset and the problem seems to have gone away. This leads me to believe its the ROM that's causing this to happen.

Also, it reports that the max text size is 130 characters...kind of strange considering it's supposed to be 160.

Overall, I do like this ROM though. Pretty responsive and some of the bugs that were present in 21501 are gone (so far no corrupt ringtones!)

EDIT: The hardware keyboard seems a lot more responsive too.

This because some of the service providers has the text limit set at 130, If I remember correctly if you get Acrsoft for Sprint then it will bump it back to 160

Re: StarROM 1.6 WM 6.5 5.2.21215 Rhodium - Finally!!!!!

Good thing I didn't flash over to another ROM too fast because of the Microsoft OneNote issue. I soft reset my device with it connected to the PC USB cable and once Active Sync started going again (I had already paired it with the PC after flashing), a pop-up window appeared in my desktop copy of OneOne, by the "Side Note" icon in my lower taskbar. The pop-up said it can install OneNote Mobile on my device for me. Pretty nice, the desktop edition realized a piece of Office software was missing on my mobile device. So I told it to set it up and now I've got OneNote Mobile on my Touch Pro with StartROM 1.6 :) .

I'm good now. Really enjoying that I can make calls using Manilla with this ROM, which I could not do with Juicy 7. I've now got a WM 6.5 build, with a better working Rhodium Manilla. Some items in Star ROM 1.6 are a little misaligned, like landscape Manilla in Juicy 7 looked a little better, but overall I'm liking StartROM 1.6 better so far.

Having a licensed copy of Onenote on my desktop helped me past my issue of OneNote Mobile not being in the ROM, but I guess anyone who uses OneNote Mobile and does not have a license for the desktop version might be in some trouble if they want to try StarROM 1.6.

I decided to try StarROM because a number of people who have tried various ROMs have mentioned they preferred it. I guess for now I'm another in that camp.
