Re: Touch Pro Cricket ROM

I couldn't get it back into a working cab. I used WinCE trial to strip cabs and winrar to extract info in cabs. Remove pic has no files, just a setup that force deletes all for arcsoft. DCD had a set up and epst.epst file, and alltel had all arcsoft files and a setup. I used xml notebook editor to edit the setups into one setup. Then tried to stack the files into one in wince and build back to cab. It would either install DCD cab, or remove pic and install alltel with SOME of the regedits I changed. But not all. I will be glad to post files if you would like to go thru and see where I goofed, but it will be in a.m. when I do it.

Re: Touch Pro Cricket ROM

Attached below is the folder with project. Butcher it and see what you can come up with.

For the record http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=82810

Best of luck blade. Google WinCe and download trial. Google xml notepade 2007 for working on _setup file (check Cricket test setup) for where I left off. I know something is wrong. What it needs to do is install remove pic first, then you might have better luck installing dcd carrier cab find in hklm your connection setting and put that regedit into the setup and skip dcd as in the doc I provided earler show how to setup connection setting by re-writing existing. Try doing that instead. Then having it install alltel cab, then create the reg values I posted in begining last, then require reseting after install. Change any project name to what you please, but I suggest trying to make all in one cab that is uninstallable. If you plan to make your own cab plus one for rest, in your cab, you can place password in, and set your phone number. That was my original plan.

Ok, I put files into one rar. 13,276kb and cricket broadband just cant get it to this post. I'll put it on my sprint phone and send it in a.m.

Re: Touch Pro Cricket ROM

Holy Moses! Did this thread ever go astray lol! I just wanted to say a few things about Drunk/Isriams ROM and maybe answer a couple of things here also...

First if you are wanting to use this ROM understand that if you go into the registry you will BREAK this essentially and have to reflash it all over again. The settings are all exactly as they should be with the exception of having to enter the cricket settings the first time you try to get online. This is NOT done from the registry!
I have been using this ROM since he made it (as a matter of fact just getting around to upgrading from 4.3 thats why I saw this thread) and have never had a single problem with MMS, SMS, WAP etc...all are good to go on my phone and with the 1000kb on MMS I love it!
The reason he hasn't changed the OS from 6.1 to 6.5 is because it was still kinda buggy at the time (you will know this if you read his stickied thread over at HoFo on this same subject) From what I have read I will stick to 6.1 for awhile lol!
He also says that he no longer has a Touch Pro so that might be a reason he hasn't changed the OS as well.
All in all this is a great ROM if you don't mind having WM6.1 and don't WANT to mess with trying to get all the settings for cricket straight on your phone yourself because Drunk/Isriam did all the work for us.

In the quote below it is mentioned that when "cricket" is entered as the pasword whenever he goes back to check it the password is longer...ain't nothin but a thing there...it is still "cricket" but Cricket has added a few characters to the end kinda to safeguard it I guess, how do I know this? I asked Drunk/Isriam about it when I was freakin on the same problem lol!

Everything you mentioned is to the T. I didn't change anything under EPST, password is 000000. I notice that when I add mymumber@mycricket.com and the password "cricket" and I go back into the the settings tab the password is way different. It should look like this *******, but its long like this ***************. I don't know why it does that, and I don't get a popup stating that the username and password is incorrect.

X2 on the cabs in this thread not working on mighty 6. Itested it after I seen your post. I can get mighty to work, but it is a hassle, and I have been spending last couple days trying to get that hassle into one cab. Even if no one wants it, I'm at least working on it for me.

IF I ever manage, I'll post it.
To0's ROM's are awesome as well. Don't know why he took em down but yes you had to contact him to get a serial number in order to use his ROM's. I was using his ROM before I switched to this one as a matter of fact and I really liked it but lost my serial number Duh!

I was going to switch to MightyRom 4 to see if it could be a WM6.5 issue, and see if 6.1 would be better off.
K all this said I hope this thread is kinda back on track...maybe the mods can somehow split this and put the work that was being done by jpwhere into a thread of it's own? Cuz this thread started out to be about the Touch Pro Cricket Rom...I kinda got lost reading the other stuff here lol!
BTW I use my SD card to flash and have no problems with doing it that way as long as I remembered to rename the file as stated in Drunk/Isriams post over on HoFo.

Re: Touch Pro Cricket ROM

Sorry to say, but some of us don't want 6.1 As of yet there is not 6.5 rom built like drunks rom. The regedits are not aimed at his rom, but to newer roms that we would like as cricket. There are plenty of roms out that state they can be used on cricket, but are in no way set up for cricket. Each time you flash a rom on a cricket phone you have to set it up for cricket again. I have switched one line of serves over to sprint, and have flashed many roms, you just flash and continue to use you phone, no extra setup required. The thread states "touch pro cricket rom" it has become a thread that is devoted to a rom (of choice) and making it cricket. There is no other threads like this to support us cricket users, and we get left behind. If you would like to dump the drunk rom, and make it into 6.5 for those of us that don't know how, be my guest, and start a new thread, and update the rom like the other chiefs do. For now, this is what we got. It also lets the noobs start with something (drunks rom) and learn from there how to make their phone better for them. It is the things that I have learned over time, and I can walk into sprint, buy a new phone, and have it setup to cricket and activated, on a stock sprint rom, with phone still locked, wap/mms fully working, before they print the receipt. Just trying to share. And I am registered with hofo, info there is old, and the support just isn't there.

Sorry if you are not happy with the thread, but we found our niche. If it makes you feel better, and the mods want to split it up and create a thread for us, I am ok with that. As long as I'm still subscribed to it.

And it didn't astray, it advanced. lol!

Re: Touch Pro Cricket ROM

WOW!!! Touchy touchy! Dude I in no way shape or form was putting ANYBODY down! I was just stating that this thread had STARTED out as a thread about Drunks TP Rom...which by the way I am not going to Dump but will continue to use because I do like it.
I think it is awesome to have someone finally get something started for those of us who use cricket! More power to ya! But don't you think that in order for OTHERS like myself or anyone else searching the forums that a thread DEDICATED to your work and those who might be able to help add to it would be in some respects better? I would not expect to find the kind of research you are doing in a thread named Touch Pro Cricket ROM. Do you see where I am going with this? Your information is very helpful and I am sure that it would be seen by more people if you had a thread that YOU could start and work from.
There are reasons why threads should stay on topic and one of them is really simple...To be able to search for a subject there must first be one. Another one being that if you are a noob looking for answers it is much easier to find those answer if threads are easily recognized for the type of information they are providing.
I am not unhappy with this thread in the least way...I think you read way way too much into what I said. I am in fact trying to PROMOTE the work you have been doing...did you happen to notice what the DATE was of your next to last post? Sept. 24th...this was on the second page of threads pertaining to CDMA TP Upgrades....Now it is on the front page. But the title is misleading hence why I said there should be a separate thread...this is not the slap in the face you seem to take it as but should have boosted you a bit in realizing that someone felt what you had to say was important enough to stand on it's own...
I too belong to HoFo among other forums pertaining to PPC's and agree that this is by far one of the best ones out there and one of the friendliest!
So I apologize to you for having offended you that was certainly not my intention...check my other posts I do not make a habit out of belittling people...again I am sorry you felt attacked/offended.

Re: Touch Pro Cricket ROM

I didn't feel it was a slap to the face, I have started an other thread to get the info I put in this one. And it died a long time back. I kept seeing this thread advance for cricket users, so I put info here. I wasn't offended, and I didn't mean to come off that way. I truly don't mind if this thread gets split. And I truly wish someone would dump his rom and get it to a 6.5 or better yet, I would love to see a thread that takes all the new posted roms and has them all converted to his workings. If I knew how, I would do it myself. I have build os, every time I tried to put together a rom myself, it failed, so I gave up. I wish I was able to build the cab I was trying to get, but that went south too. I am hoping that blade can get it closer, or anyone else that would like to try and take a stab at it. I promote anyone's works.

Do you mean view single posts? If so just click the post number and you can view each post....don't know if you knew that it took me awhile on any forum to figure that out *turns bright red* anyway that still gives you a link to copy but not for the entire thread.

Yes, thanks. I did cut and past theory from other threads and was able to come up with one of the single posts, but not an other.
