I believe that is how it was designed. It's like Windows live messenger. If you are looking at the screen, it figures you know that you got a notification.

Do you hear the normal USB connection "blip" on your computer that tells you a USB Device has been connected?

I know you said you can't get BT to sync either, but for $hit$ & giggles try another USB cable for the USB sync. Also try deleting your mobile partnership first.

Yes, you can restore which ever files and folders you want.

Don't forget to Turn Off Binary Backup if you ever use this to backup your contacts. It's a known bug for Manila2.1. Check yoztag's thread @ xda if you curious about the deets.

Give it a few days, and also soft reset it a few times. I tried this rom, but didnt like the bugs, but waiting a few days and a few soft resets is standard on any rom.

Also, Install Lumos. It's in the thread file listing. Makes a HUGE difference.
