OK, that is why is pointless to argue about carriers. I have had no problems with digital or roaming (and I am not lying, like I said I have been with them for 8 years), so I guess, like I said it is personal experience. Ultimately each person stays with the service that bests servers their needs.

Sorry, I don't really know that much about it. After reading the main thread, someone identified a tweak that was totally related to GSM phones and identified it. When I removed that particular tweak, it loaded fine. Then I found the other file which I also listed. Again, just remember, when the app is reinstalled, the original tweaks file is loaded. To you have to add back in the workable versions.

I have to say that you are correct. I have changed to the 30 dollar plan and have been able to receive email and I also added a new contact on my server side and it showed up in the contacts on the phone!

Thanks for the info.

Scott, does that make it more appealing to go back to "THE NETWORK"?

thought vzn's unlimited plan($45) was just an extra $15 a month for tethering. if thats the case isnt there a hack to change that? where i live im pretty much stuck because vzn is the best show in town. sprint has 2 maybe 3 towers total and att isnt much better. vzn towers are all over the place.

There was no mention of tethering when I called.

I was told the it was for Exchange access but then he used the acronym BES which makes me think that the 45 fee is for Blackberry Exchange Server access not WinMo access to Exchenge.

I would call and check but I am done with them right now. don't want to push my luck

plus we need to stay OT or we might get in trouble

Thanks for enduring the OT posts scott.

It was locking up on me at < 9 Megs... but since I've changed the PP to 9.5 Meg the ROM has been solid. I did lose the 1 Meg worth of free RAM but I'm going to tone down the file system cache down to 1MB from 2MB to gain the lost memory.

So far i had no issues, stable, I've got a lot of stuff running, and they all seem to play nicely.

I also installed TouchResponse for heptic feed back on screen touch, and it's working very nicely.. Also seem to have pretty good battery life... I'm down 10% since 7, and I've been Bluetooth Tethering...

I know the GPS works because i've done this combo before... but I'll try again during lunch... Keep ya'll posted.

Ok, I think i might have to settle for this combination. I had 1 lockup due to a bug in PocketShield beta... it sometimes lock up when I have the phone plugged in the AC power and proceed to unlock. other than that... I had 0 issues... super fast... smooth... I've used it since 7AM and am down to 60% Battery... I had it in the AC Charger for 10 min at most... (testing the lockup) I do have Exchange Email doing pushmail to my phone.. and I average about 45 emails a day, i'd say i respond to about 10 with my phone out of the 45... (short ones obviously) thats 40% loss during 11 hours, and i should have enough to run till i sleep without too much problems.

Former did send stuff to my FTP i'll perhaps build some stuff with that...

But right now, Day 1. and I'm happy with 21015 + 21018XIP combo...GPS works off initial boot, and picks up 7-9 sats in 15 - 45 seconds...

I don't know why i keep flashing... maybe I should stop... flashing is like crack for geeks...

I'm trying this combo too... last night I had flashed with 21015.21015XIP w/8M PP and I locked up when videoing some funny drunk playing pool. After that GPS refused to lock and I hard reset; still no GPS.

I've reflashed about a half hour ago, with 21015.21018XIP using a 10MB PP and will see what happens.

Let us know how your XIP tests go
