Great idea - BUT - I think that is part of the problem...Scott and I both had the same issue with 21015 + Kitchen....Because of an "auto-start" item in the 2577 folder on our cards, the "Auto-Calibrate" function in the kitchen hangs. The only way we get a goood flash is to remove the SD card before flashing and reinsert the card after the customizations are complete. So that means that the UC and Autorun in the kitchen won't work. What I will need to do is to figure out how to put an AUTORUN and SDConfig.txt on a spare SD card so I can use your idea. Edit1: GONNA KILL HIM!!...GONNA KILL HIM!!!!.....AS a last resort, I used CLEAR STORAGE. That erased my !!!Bored!!! fix. BUT, I also discovered when it came back on that "FILE EXPLORER", still didn't have an icon in PROGRAMS, however, I found it in the MENU list of programs. I never thought of looking there before....it was probably there all the time.....GONNA KILL HIM!!! Still don't have ACTIVE SYNC....So, I'm still going to have to flash a new ROM to get it back - and NOW, I also have to reapply THE FIX. All I gotta do now is to read directions on how to do a flash from the SD card....then I'm on my way. BobBU Last edited by oldman; 02-28-2009 at 01:50 PM. |

hold power, vol down, then push the soft reset hole but keep the other buttons until you see the tri-color screen. I flash a lot of times this way because its faster. Hope this helps.

Re: *21 Feb* UPD 15: SSK 1.5M *8* OS Kitchen inc WM6.5 Build 21159 and OS 21015 ROM -
[EDIT]
Ok, after some serious panicking I was told there is a way to bring the TouchPro into the tri-color BootLoader screen by pressing Volume-Down and the Power Button while pressing the reset key. This allowed me to reload the custom Rom. The phone is alive again and I'm restoring from my backup as I type. [/EDIT] First, I should say THANK YOU because I have enjoyed using the SSK rom immensely! However, I only now post the thank you when I have hit a snag. I think I may have bricked my TouchPro. Any thoughts or suggestions on this: The phone is/was running a custom ROM(SSK 1.5). I was testing out an application called mSafe(http://www.motionapps.com/product/msafe/). It is a remote lock/wipe software. The Remote lock worked fine and I attempted the remote wipe (after a full backup via Sprite). The phone is now stuck at the 'Verizon Wireless' boot screen saying "Please wait, phone starting up" It has been stuck like that for over an hour. I performed a soft-rest via the reset button on the bottom, and it returns to the same screen. The phone will NOT power-off unless I remove the battery at this point. I tried a hard-reset by pressing both volume-up and volume-down buttons while pressing the reset button. This had no effect the phone seems frozen in as soon as it hits the start up screen. Help? -Jason Last edited by TallJason; 02-28-2009 at 05:58 PM. |

It should not bricked. Boot into boot loader mode flash a new rom and go from there.
For boot loader (With the phone turned off, volume down + power + reset with stylus). Or, place the rom file in the sd card as instructed by the sticky and that should reaload the rom as well. |
