Personally my recoemndations is just the opposite.

Try my prebuilt ROM's to see what the OS is like.

If you like the OS and responsiveness of the ROM then I would Make ROM in the kitchen.

The ROM is nothing more than my idea of what a phone shoudl be like. Hence the kitchen will make the RMO what you want.


Eitherway the choice is yours. Try the ROM first though. Just my ideaology.

Teh animation was Done by Juicy just for little ole 350 pound me and I did the actuall windows splash screen. *Cough* mean bootlegged the image from google and modded it into a splash screen then turned it black using gimp *cough*

I would kill to be able to see the demographics of those who use my ROM. Mostly age and profession I would like to know.

Another thought....

I would like to create one single "community" ROM that we can call the SSK standard ROM. I donbt have an official ROM, just a bunch of ROM's. Any thoughts on build, manila, etc?

I chose the 21042 tp2 rom. After your SSK splash then it says at the bottom "Thanks for ..." that was great lol

umm, I dont want to start this off with "bugs" but I cant stand the TP2 manila for so many little reason. It look sso good but its like "infected" lol. Like first thing i checked was the Weather tab, its not YOU its THEM :) I know how it is. Also, I'm reflashing it and taking off my SDConfig.txt......too many issues and I cant pick them out. But it looks great nonetheless!

Does anyone think the kitchen is getting too big. Im talking abotu selections on the actual kitchen. Not the physical file size.

Great work again. Yes, I remember the A-team. 26 year old, male, economics post doc -- don't shoot I'm not into macro economics or finance :). Only bug I have found is all the _*_8.png files in the jbed java are duplicates when I build with that selected. NO problem, I just deleted them out of the OEM folder and all is well. Great work as always.


EDIT: I love the kitchen expanding. I am moving stuff out of uc auto as I flash too much and it is much easier having it in the kitchen than waiting for uc autorun. I know, I know you were pitching the uc autorun because it makes updating easier. I just flash too frequently to wait for updates.

Try the Non TP2 ROM. I know how you feel about TP2. I feel the same way you do too. Everyone was asking for it so I was like, WTF..... Thats why I did two ROM's on the CE OS. I am not really taking the TP2 ROM so serieous. Just there so people can play around with it. Others may choose to keep it. Its just about choice ;c) I gave everyone a choice ;c)

In 6 months, we'll probably be laughing about those still using the tp1 stuff cuz we will be all "advanced" lol. But also know, its because of people like you that we will even get that far! I agree. Its choice again.

My own personal ROM is completely preloaded. I just load in my email and sprint TV.

UC vs OEM is all about choice. I go back and forth some times. For the AVERAGE user I say use UC. I dont htink the average user flashes as much as you and I. For frequent flashers I recomend OEM style. For the average user I really do beleive UC and a light ROM are best. I have convereted alot of people into UC junkies in this thread ;c) ask Phatooth and imrpudent.. They will tell you ahahahahaha ;c)

One last thing...THANK YOU for putting the screen calibration back in so I can take manual control during uc autorun for programs that need input and my clicks register correctly! I have been looking for this feature in a kitchen for at least a month.

I don't think that a "kitchen" can be too big. The 2 problems I see are:
1) People might not recognize an app. Either a link to the original thread or a small description would be helpful for most people.
2) The bigger problem for Noobs is that they might try to include everything and create a ROM that exceeded the 128 MB limit. It would be nice if someone could figure out a way to put a "counter" into the "operation" so that as you clicked on a folder, it's size was included into the ''size data" of your specific ROM.

Of course I remember the A-Team, but I DON'T remember a time without TV.

Oh that, yes.

I wanted to be more creative than normal. And I got very lucky and found the BMP file for that image. It was pure luck. I was hunting down some DLL files after I did some OEM spl;its and bamo, I said to myslef... Never saw this one before and then opened it in paint What laid before me was the pinnacle of my solo finds! The BMP file to the "Please wait screen......"

I PROMPTLY modified that...

He told me to do that way back when. I just never got around to it.

But yeah, that was a smart move.

On the outside you may not notice much but on the inside the entire core was rebuilt. Completely 100% rebuilt by hand by me from stock ROM's. I got the carriers from Cauklin and some apps as well.
