Hit the thanks!! Just kidding, the thanks stuff is all good, it doesnt mean anything, but I never got to tell a ROM maker to hit the thanks button so you're the first. CONGRATS!

And I think making an offical SSK ROM thread would be awesome. You have a good amount of knowledgeable and loyal users here, so we can help you.

I don't think a kitchen has many options. Ever.

Sometimes it may be a little annoying when you don't know what a certain program is, but a google search is always a few clicks away.

A-Team was one of my favorite shows when I was younger. Mr. T was one of my heros!! I have pics of me sitting on Santa's lap with about 10 huge gold chains around my neck!! I ask my parents, "why did you let me do that, I would have been embarresed if I was you". They let me be me though, which is awesome. Heck, I was in their basement a couple of months ago and I still have a A-Team van down there. Not a Matchbox car either, on big enough for the action figures to go in. Some He-Man figures down there too.
Anyway, I'm 29 and a Automotive Service Technician for Chysler, Dodge, and Jeep. Probably making the move to Ford pretty soon as I'm a Ford guy, you may have noticed form my sn and avatar.

I pity da fool dat mess wit my phone!!

i dont think the kitchen is to big at all. Which brings me to a question i been wantin to ask.
If i wanna include sum programs i use faithfully in a rom i cook with the kitchen...do i just drop the OEMs into the OEM folder? Prolly a noob question but hey i am a noob! :)

Understand, everybody's a Noob at one time. We have to teach them. However, considering all the "flash-crazy" people that follow your ROMS, you need to keep them happy.

Think I'd suggest 2 Kitchens...One labeled "NOOB only" that has just enough for them to learn. Once they learn the basics, they can graduate to your standard full-fledged kitchen. I think that I'd also post a comment in Post 1 that a ROM is limited to 128 MB. If you exceed that number you will get this error message: "xxxxxx.xxx"..You need to reduce the number of apps that you have selected. A statement like that would answer a lot of questions before they are asked.

Because of him me and my Brother got into corvettes. Not my Dad and brother are rebuilding some. My brother has a real fast one. I mean fast. Sick fast. he makes that thing fast wityh the same intensitiy I put into kitchen and MR building. Id ont know what it has but its alot. IM not a car guy so I cant talk it but I do know he has a special crate motor in it that is insanely fast. Custom built transmission for it. Big carbs, etc.... Buty yeah...

I thought about two kitchens and a conversion pack that you would run to upgrade you to a full kitchen such as it is now. I woudl do this by unzipping the "option.xml" files into the OPEM folders. I never got pas that in a brainstorm so I am nost so sure how I coudl keep it all synched up.....

I also had one protype kitchen that worked pretty good. It let you select the CE OS Build before you cooked. No manual fiule moving... That was a cool one too....

Yeah, I had lots of cool ideas to make one kitchen for all types of users.

Oh and since we are talking about the kitchen...

Has anyone found the "easter egg" I put in the kitchen? Its a nice one for those that find it. Its for advanced chefs only.....

EDIT: Oh and I am going to bed..... Talke to you all later!

Tried to put too much on one ROM.

The ROM's have a limit of about 128 Megs in size. If you create ROM l;arger than that the protion before that error messge quites building the RMO so then that screen says the file is not there to encode.

Basically you need to make the ROM smaller. deselct some items. There is no way to be able to tell you how much you are using when youa re making the selections, sorry but you can approximate by looking at the size of the OEM's.

That message usually means that you tried to "cook" too much stuff into the ROM. Reduce the number of selections and try again. The max ROM size is 128 MB

Thanks, Bob. I should have clarified in the message that I'd applied the fix already -- no luck. (I really did read the directions...;-) ) I've also searched in the thread, but I all I found was another poster who apparently had the same problem I'm having but didn't get an answer.

When I try to run a GPS search through Navigator, I get the message, "Could not process your GPS request. Please try again. [15]." Under the B2B ROM, I got something similar (don't know if it had the same code), but if I hit OK a few times, it would lock anyway. With R4R, I can hit OK 20 times after the message and it still won't lock.

I'd appreciate any and all thoughts.

Thanks,
kal

Make sure that the Location is turned on...found under Phone/settings

If not, you'll have to wait till Scott wakes up.

Edit: make sure that the GPS points to the right drivers. I never use VZ Nav, but the hardware setting probably should be "none" or GPS drivers. For my usage, I have the setting for GPS access set at "COM 4"

Edit 2: which fix are you describing above? If you're refering to the !!!Bored!!! fix, that's not the one I'm talking about. it's the "SSK 1.5 GPS - VZN.cab" that's an attachment to post 4.

Hey Scott,
I am so glad you are back. I have been trying everything in your absence and nothing hit the spot. Also very glad your family came through the flood unharmed.

Dowloading kitchen right now.

And I am 40, living in Maryland. I am the General Sales Manager for a car dealership here. My family hated how much time I would spend on my phone. They have finely accepted it as a family member and even gave it a name, Bob.

Thanks Again!

2) The bigger problem for Noobs is that they might try to include everything and create a ROM that exceeded the 128 MB limit. It would be nice if someone could figure out a way to put a "counter" into the "operation" so that as you clicked on a folder, it's size was included into the ''size data" of your specific ROM.

Of course I remember the A-Team, but I DON'T remember a time without TV.

You push around a hot dog cart?

I'm going on 37, a Systems Information Manager (notice I used caps to make it more impressive) for a water company. I'm bad at my job, I sit in my office and flash all day, until I get a walk in, and then I get angry becuase I was interrupted while doing nothing. For some reason, that makes everyone believe I work hard....

Don't forget that crazy Murdock...

I tried both the 21042 with tp2 and without. I think its very stable thus far, but just doesnt seem too fast to me. Im going to try the blended sys files now. Is that just what it sounds like? 2 versions mixed together?
